The Summit: Center for Wellness is a dream and a vision, propelled by the dedicated volunteers of Loyalsock Foundation. Loyalsock Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization established in 2019 for the purpose of improving the overall health and well-being of the residents of Sullivan County. The Foundation seeks to build The Summit: Center for Wellness, a multi-generational, regional wellne

ss and cultural community center with facilities for health, fitness, education, and outdoor recreation, including a natural rock ledge amphitheater and other indoor and outdoor multi-purpose venues. The overall design of the site will incorporate the lumbering heritage of Sullivan County, which has played a key role in the country for over a century. Through the generosity of members of the community and the persistence and determination of countless people over many years, we now have approximately 50 acres for the envisioned campus of The Summit. Join local artist Amy Tomalin on June 18 at 10 am at Lake Mokoma for this fun and creative art workshop. Participants will use colorful paper scraps to create a unique luna moth.

Tonight's the night! NEPA Gives, a 24-hour online giving extravaganza, begins at 7 pm this evening, June 4.

We invite you to donate to The Summit: Center for Wellness as an investment in our community's health and well-being.

For 24 hours - from 7 p.m. to 7 p.m. ET - on Thursday, June 4 to Friday, June 5, supporters may make secure donations to their favorite local nonprofit organizations through the NEPA Gives online platform.

Donations to participating nonprofits will be enhanced with bonus funds provided by NEPA Gives sponsors, making donor dollars stretch even further!

Wow! What a night for a party! Thank you to everybody who stopped by for our Blue Moon Party. Delicious pizza, cold beer, moon pies, and good company filled The Summit last evening. The moon was spectacular, and we got to try out our newly gifted telescope.

We'd like to recognize our supporters, donors, volunteers, and the community for helping us take each step on the trek to The Summit. It's a long journey, but progress is happening. Thank you!

We have lots more opportunities for stargazing this summer. Check out our website for a calendar of free programming events. And stay tuned for pop-up nights with the telescope when the sky cooperates.

A tremendous thank you to the Eagles Mere-Laporte LIONS Foundation for investing in the future health and wellness of our community. Following the 41st Annual LIONS Golf Tournament at the Eagles Mere Country Club on May 27, Judith Moore, President of the EML LIONS Foundation, alongside her family, presented a $25,000 leadership gift in support of The Summit: Center for Wellness.

Loyalsock Foundation is deeply grateful to the EML LIONS Foundation for their generosity and longstanding commitment to strengthening our region. This leadership gift will help fuel the trek to The Summit, create lasting opportunities for connection, wellness, and growth for generations to come.

The Summit: Center for Wellness donated several moon and night-sky themed books to the Sullivan County Library in honor of this year's "Life After Dark" programming. Loyalsock Foundation's April Gavitt presented the books to librarian Sarah Abernethy.

One of the books is a beginner-friendly guide to using a telescope. A generous donor gifted a telescope to Loyalsock Foundation, and we are excited to try it out at this Saturday's Blue Moon Party! Join us for a fun evening of pizza, games, and gazing at the night sky - Saturday, May 30 at The Summit, starting at 7 pm.
