Loyalsock Foundation

Loyalsock Foundation The Summit will be a multi-generational, regional wellness & cultural community center. Welcome to our climb!

The Summit: Center for Wellness is a dream and a vision, propelled by the dedicated volunteers of Loyalsock Foundation. Loyalsock Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization established in 2019 for the purpose of improving the overall health and well-being of the residents of Sullivan County. The Foundation seeks to build The Summit: Center for Wellness, a multi-generational, regional wellne

ss and cultural community center with facilities for health, fitness, education, and outdoor recreation, including a natural rock ledge amphitheater and other indoor and outdoor multi-purpose venues. The overall design of the site will incorporate the lumbering heritage of Sullivan County, which has played a key role in the country for over a century. Through the generosity of members of the community and the persistence and determination of countless people over many years, we now have approximately 50 acres for the envisioned campus of The Summit. Thank you to Jeff Klemens for an interesting and funny talk on flying squirrels and his current research project on this small but extremely fast animal. Jeff showed fascinating footage of flying squirrels in PA. We learned a lot about this very social animal!

Special shout out to Jeff's son, Jack, who stood in as a tree during part of the demonstration. We'd also like to thank St. John's Community Church for use of the space.
