The La Porte Sunflower Fair is cancelled, unfortunately, but we are still collecting Halloween costumes! Tomorrow: Bring gently used Halloween costumes your family has outgrown!

MOMS Club of LaPorte/New Prairie will have dedicated costume collection boxes during the rummage sale Saturday, Sept 19 at:

Donate your gently used costumes, and we’ll help give them a second life by distributing FREE to local families in need of Halloween costumes. 👻🧙‍♀️🦸‍♂️

💕 FREE maternity bras & panties for local moms! 💕

Thanks to a Walmart Spark Good Local Grant award, we’ve partnered with Giggles Boutique to provide new maternity bras and panties to moms in our community. 🤰💗

✨ Items are first come, first served and available while supplies last. Just stop by Giggles Boutique and ask at the desk for your **free bra and panty**. Perfect for expecting or postpartum moms!

We’re so excited to turn this grant into something practical that goes directly into the hands of local moms who can use it! 💜

LA PORTE! NEW PRAIRIE! AND BEYOND! 🎃👻🧡

We are collecting Halloween costumes again this year! But we are doing things a little differently this time!
Instead of collecting costumes after Halloween, we will be collecting them throughout the entire month of September so that they can be given to children in time to enjoy Halloween! 🧡

📍 We are looking for local businesses to serve as costume collection spots!!

If you would like to have a collection box at your place of business, please let us know! We will provide a flyer for you to display so your customers and community members know where they can donate.

At the end of September, we will collect all donated costumes and make them publicly available at the New Buffalo Library for any child who needs a Halloween costume this year. 🎃

Whether costumes are brand new or gently used and ready for another little one to enjoy, every donation can help make Halloween a little more magical for a child. 🧡

SERVICE PROJECT UPDATES
Hi friends! A few updates on what we’ve been working on this summer:

🚲 Bicycle Donations
We wrapped up our bicycle collection for City Kids New Wave! In addition to the donated bikes, we sent a $150 Walmart gift card to help support their work rehabbing bicycles and getting them into the hands of local kids. How cool is that?!

🤰 Maternity Drive
We’re also wrapping up our maternity donation drive. Last month, we delivered all of the gently used maternity clothing you donated to Giggles Boutique. Next, we’ll be purchasing brand-new maternity bras and underwear for them to distribute free of charge to moms in our community. Thank you to everyone who contributed!

🎃 Costume Drive — We Need Locations!
Finally, we’re gearing up for our annual Costume Drive! We’re looking for local businesses, churches, libraries, and other community spaces willing to host a costume donation box.
Know a good spot? Ask for permission to place a box, then let us know! We’ll work with you to get a donation box set up and ready to collect gently used costumes for reuse in our community. ♻️🎃

Congrats to our very own Membership Vice President, Brie, for her spotlight in People magazine. We are so proud of her hard work sharing her family’s story and raising awareness on autism and parenting. Shes pretty awesome - we love ya girl. 🫶

One mom was left speechless after an unexpected moment with her son.

When Indiana mom Brie Nichols picks up her son Miller, 6, from school, she routinely sets up her camera and asks him how his day went. Being that he’s non-verbal and was diagnosed with autism as a baby, Nichols, who shares her son and daughter, Layla, 4, with husband Boyd, never expects him to answer.

After three years of following this same routine, Nichols was in “complete shock” when one day, her son responded to the daily question.
