General information

As women, doesn’t it seem as though we are constantly told what issues are of importance to us? The Center for Women’s Issues (“CWI”) will uncover the truth of the issues at the forefront of women’s minds and provide leaders with the real platform issues for women in Michigan. With issues clearly defined, the work to support, address and advance women’s issues may finally begin. Michigan’s women are individually unique, and so are their life experiences, opinions and beliefs. Media today tends to present women in a 'one size fits all' approach; with the 2016 election cycle fast approaching, many will claim they are speaking for women. This study is designed to allow women to speak for themselves. Why now? Why this study? Decisions on women’s issues and daily lives are made each day without the accurate input of women! This comprehensive, non-suggestive study has never been conducted in Michigan. Many studies offer a list of possible responses for women to choose from. While this approach is efficient and great for researchers it will never provide a more accurate result than an open-ended question that simply asks women to ‘make their voice heard’ – this is what distinguishes the CWI study from all others.
