Foothills Riding Club is organized to promote equestrian interests for all horse lovers, including dressage and combined training, through sponsorship of educational and recreational activities. Located in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mtns., the Foothills Riding Club is organized for the purpose of promoting understanding and enjoyment of equestrian activities, particularly dressage and combine

d training, through sponsorship of educational and recreational activities such as presentations, clinics, schooling shows, and other mounted programs. To further these goals, the FRC provides the following to the equestrian community:
- Monthly meetings spring and fall with informative and entertaining guest lecturers on topics such as innovations in equine veterinary treatment, farm maintenance, safety equipment, competitions, etc.
- Monthly newsletter
- Web site containing informative articles, news, calendar of area horse activities
- Annual Schooling Combined Test
- Annual Schooling Horse Trials
- Dressage Schooling Show Series
- Occasional clinic: most recently Linda Hoover & Sport Horse Versatility

Proceeds from these activities are donated to local area organizations such as FENCE, Foothills Humane Society, Thermal Belt Outreach, PEER, TROT, Red Cross, Polk County Rescue, and others.

🌧️ Rain? What rain? 🌧️

Well, Saturday was definitely wet, but hey—absolutely no one could complain about it being dusty! 😂🚜

A massive shout-out to our incredible volunteers and amazing riders who showed up, toughed it out, and proved that equestrians don't melt! From Intro all the way through Grand Prix, you all walked, trotted, and passaged your way through the downpour like absolute champions. 🏆✨

The best part of the day? The vibes. We heard plenty of laughter, some sweet words of consolation, and during the absolute worst of the deluge, one rider won the positivity award by saying: "We need the rain. If it took a horse show to get it, I am not going to complain!" 🪵🌧️ That’s the spirit!

Sure, a few folks chose to stay dry and scratch, but overall we had a fantastic turnout. In fact, one of our judges couldn't believe her eyes! She kept remarking on how incredible it was to see so many dedicated riders out there giving it their all despite the weather. 😲👏

Thank you to everyone who made Saturday so special, soggy boots and all! You guys rock. 🐴❤️

🚨 CLINIC ALERT: Elevate Your Dressage Scores! 🚨

Are you ready to turn those 6s into 7s and 8s? 🐴✨ Foothills Riding Club is thrilled to host a Dressage Fix-A-Test Clinic with Margaret Freeman! Whether you're preparing for your next show or just want expert eyes on your progress, this is the perfect opportunity.

🗓️ When: Saturday, June 20
📍 Where: Deer Meadow Farm (149 Caro Lane, Chesnee, SC)
Features a beautiful covered arena! Located just 10 mins from I-26 Exit 5/Hwy 11 & Green Creek.

⭐ How It Works (40-Minute Private Sessions)

1️⃣ Ride your test: Warm up and ride any USEF, USDF, or FEI test of your choice in the large arena.
2️⃣ Get coached: Margaret will work with you directly on specific movements to maximize your points. 📈
3️⃣ Reride & Apply: Put that feedback straight to work and ride your test (or sections of it) one more time!

Learn from the best! Margaret has been judging dressage for 38 years and holds a prestigious USEF "Senior" Dressage Judge's license. She has a wealth of knowledge in judging, teaching, and youth programs, making her feedback invaluable for riders of all levels.

FRC Members: $65 (Psst... you can use Club Bucks for up to 50% of your riding spot!) 🐴
Non-Members: $85
Day Stall: $30

Who says you have to be in the saddle to improve your riding? 🐎✨

We had an incredible turnout for our educational seminar with the amazing Matt Devlin on April 16! Matt dropped some serious knowledge on how to keep our bodies as fine-tuned as our horses. 🛠️💪

💡 Key Takeaways:

The Power Center: We dove deep into the lumbopelvic-hip complex. Keeping this area healthy is the secret sauce to preventing low back pain and fall-related injuries. 🦴

You ARE an Athlete: It doesn't matter if you’re a beginner or a pro—if you ride, you’re an athlete! 🏅

Off-the-Horse Training: To achieve peak performance, we have to address our weaknesses on the ground so we can shine in the saddle. Yes, that means some "unmounted" gym time! 🏋️‍♀️
