As the hot humid days 🥵of August are here…. I thought tonight I’ll so look forward to fall, when a jacket will be needed 🧥and the herds coats start to change in texture & some in color 😊
Wanted to share with you all that Our awesome herd volunteers ,are there giving their time at 97’ degrees in summer or 17’ degrees in winter!
This year we had volunteers going in summer hot afternoon/ eves to make sure herd had cold water & plenty of it along with our herd hug time. At times we bought ice cubes or blocks of ice to add to the water buckets knowing we all need to keep hydrated.
Did you know….
it’s just as important for the herd to stay hydrated in winter, as summer!!?✅
Cold weather causes dry winter air, and goats eat dry hay instead of fresh grass. This makes drinking water vital to prevent dangerous health issues like urinary stones or blockages in their digestion.
