“Leading Through the Lean Times” is a focused forum for pastors and
ministry leaders seeking to support their members through financial stress
and economic instability. This session blends biblical wisdom with practical
guidance to help churches respond with compassion, clarity, and
confidence. Come be strengthened and equipped to lead well in difficult
seasons.
PRESENTER: Michelle Singletary
Michelle Singletary is a nationally syndicated personal finance columnist
for The Washington Post whose work blends practical financial guidance
with a heart for empowering families and communities. She has received
some of journalism’s highest honors, including the Gerald Loeb Lifetime
Achievement Award.
Ms. Singletary is the author of four books, including The 21-Day Financial
Fast, and she is a frequent contributor to major media outlets such as NBC,
CNN, and NPR. She is a graduate of the University of Maryland, College
Park, and Johns Hopkins University.
A devoted follower of Christ, Ms. Singletary is the founder and director of
Prosperity Partners Ministry, a program at her church focused on economic
empowerment. Along with her husband, she remains committed to
community service, volunteering to teach money management in the
Maryland correctional system.
