This October- United Way certainly gave out more TREATS than TRICKS 🎃👻🍭💀
✨ Partnered once again with the Wiregrass Ranch High School United Way Club to get students involved in meaningful community service.
✨ Had a great time hosting tables at Pasco-Hernando State College resource fairs and connecting with students.
✨ Dropped off resources to students at Fred K. Marchman Technical College.
✨ Wrapped up our Ferman Chevrolet - Tarpon Springs Ferman Volvo Cars of Tarpon Springs Automotive campaign with a visit to Tarpon Springs. We are incredibly grateful for their dozens of years of partnership and continued support as one of our top corporate partners!
✨ Visited 15 public schools to speak with faculty and staff about the impact of United Way.
✨ Our associate also participated in this month’s Leadership Pasco Sheriff's Office Sheriff’s Office Day!

Last week, we were honored to welcome some of our most generous supporters to our Partners in Purpose Lunch at Cooper’s Hawk! From corporate partners and individual donors to family foundations, we are grateful for the incredible people and organizations who believe in our mission and invest in a stronger Pasco County.

Guests heard from United Way President & CEO Laura Ospina-Knight about the impact of our programs, Billy Major of the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office on homeless prevention and community partnerships, and Alexandra, a graduate of our Fighting Human Trafficking Program, who courageously shared her inspiring story. Board Chair Kevin Shibley also recognized several outstanding partners: Ferman Automotive, Withlacoochee River Electric Cooperative, Publix Super Markets, and the Walker Family Foundation.

Every partnership makes a difference. Together, we are creating opportunities, strengthening families, and changing lives throughout Pasco County.

🏆 United Way Pasco Achieves BRIGHT Network Platinum Level status within the BRIGHT Network, a project of the University of South Florida 's Trafficking in Persons (TIP) Lab.

This highest level of vetting is a meaningful recognition of our commitment to excellence, integrity, strong operational practices, and the highest standards of service. We are honored to have our policies, procedures, and practices recognized through this process.

The BRIGHT Network (Bridging Resources and Information Gaps in Human Trafficking) is a vetted, secure resource referral network designed to help connect individuals impacted by human trafficking with trusted services and resources.

We are especially grateful to the University of South Florida TIP Lab and BRIGHT team for this recognition and for their continued leadership in strengthening collaboration and services within Florida’s anti-human trafficking community.

For us, this achievement is more than a badge- it represents our ongoing commitment to providing safe, ethical, high-quality services and to being a trusted partner for individuals, families, and communities.

Human trafficking can happen anywhere—and survivors deserve to know they are not alone. 💙

At United Way of Pasco County, we are committed to supporting survivors with safe housing, emergency assistance, trauma-informed care, and resources to help them rebuild their lives. Call (727)-845-3030 or visit our website unitedwaypasco.org for more details.

Together, we can raise awareness, recognize the signs, and create a community where everyone has the opportunity to live free from exploitation.

This year alone, we have already provided more than 750 additional services and connected individuals with 30 therapists who specialize in trauma-informed care.
We have provided more than 20 emergency hotel stays to individuals in need. We have served 37 clients and successfully helped 17 survivors secure safe housing.
Awareness leads to action. Hope leads to healing. 💙

💚We are so grateful to have spent our campaign weeks connecting with 600+ Publix employees across Pasco County!

We were proud to equip Publix teams with resources, share information about the programs available through United Way, and remind employees where their generous contributions go, and how those dollars help local families access the support they need. Shout out to our awesome agencies who joined in the presentations!

From store to store, we had the opportunity to hear their stories about friends, family members, coworkers, and neighbors who are struggling financially, mentally, or physically right here in our community.

These conversations are a powerful reminder of why we do what we do. ❤️

September Recap: We helped host Pasco County, Florida, Government Support Services Team’s Two Good Soles 5K, raising funds to provide proper footwear for thousands of low-income students in our school district. 👟 Congrats to our Board Member, Mike Aitken, for placing 1st overall! 🏆

Our Senior Associate also joined the Leadership Pasco Bus Tour, exploring every corner of the county alongside dozens of local business leaders.

We were also honored to be the beneficiary of Florida Avenue Brewing Co’s Oktoberfest fundraiser, spoke at Citizens Bank & Trust, hosted a table at the PHSC Resource Fair, and more! Photos coming soon of our 75 presentations at Publixes across the county!
