Winchester Arms Collectors Association - WACA Wi******er Arms Collectors Association (WACA) is a non-profit, tax-exempt corporation with an international membership comprised of over 3,000 individuals.

The Wi******er Arms Collectors Association (WACA) is a not-for-profit, tax-exempt corporation with a worldwide membership of over 3,000 individuals. WACA was organized in July 1977, incorporated February 21, 1978 in the State of Montana and has been NRA affiliated ( ) since 1978. Our members are devoted to the preservation, understanding and collecting of Wi******er fi****ms and related produ

cts as well as the role these products had in forging America’s heritage. The Wi******er Collector, a quarterly publication, is dedicated to the collecting of Wi******er Fi****ms and related Memorabilia. It includes Wi******er related articles, highlights from our shows and events, as well as calendar updates and classified ads. We encourage our members to contribute to our publications, as we showcase our members’ favorite Wi******ers. Our annual WACA show and meeting takes place July each year, in Cody, WY, and includes an awards program with specifically sculptured bronze plaques for WACA members like the highly-coveted “George Madis – Best Educational” trophy and cash awards. We also attend satellite shows with the Ohio Gun Collectors in Wilmington, OH, the Mid-Hudson Inc. & Westchester Collectors Club in West Springfield, MA, and the Las Vegas Antique Arms Show in Las Vegas, NV. We encourage our members to participate in all Wi******er shows. Other benefits of membership include WACA-branded items (caps, table covers, pins, patches, etc.) which are available online and through the WACA office. In addition, we have a partnership with the Cody Fi****ms Museum, so CFM Members who are also WACA members will receive the exclusive WACA benefit of 15 additional CFM record searches which are in addition to the number included in non-WACA CFM members’ standard search packages.

We're often asked about the steps we take to preserve our artifacts. In both storing and displaying our artifacts, we take careful measures to protect our objects from temperature, humidity, contact, and light exposure. To control temperature and humidity, our artifacts are kept in sealed environments that prevent rapid changes in temperature as well as filter out humidity that exceeds our climate control. Each object is also rested on an artifact-safe material that protects against, scratches, friction, or any other form of contact. Lastly, we rotate objects between display and storage to prevent fading due to long-term exposure to light.

This Wi******er Model 1894 was built in 1905 with a barrel threaded for a silencer. Prior to the introduction of the National Fi****ms Act in 1934, a silencer, now more commonly called a suppressor, could be purchased over the counter like any other firearm accessory.

There have been many people working tirelessly to turn the Wyoming State Shooting Complex (WSSC) from an idea into a reality. The Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP), of which WACA is a member, and the Buffalo Bill Center of the West, with whom WACA has a long-standing partnership, have been instrumental in bringing this project to fruition. The Wyoming State Shooting Complex has great potential for being the place for all kinds of fi****ms programs. Congratulations to all involved and thank you to the Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP) for their $10 million challenge grant initiative.
