The difference between supports and services in school

If you have a child with learning and thinking differences, you’ve probably heard the phrase “services and supports.” Both of these enable your child get help in the classroom. And they’re both covered in IEPs, 504 plans, and response to intervention (RTI).

But while the terms services and supports may be used interchangeably and your child may receive both, they actually mean different things. Here are the key differences.

Our heartfelt appreciation to our long standing partner, Bristol County Savings Bank and their Charitable Foundation, for their continued support of our mission.

At today’s Check Presentation Breakfast, we were the fortunate recipient of a grant for $7,500 to support in the delivery of our Summer Learning/Tutoring Program for students who learn differently.

We are deeply grateful to BCSB for serving the diverse needs identified within the communities they serve so that individuals can grow and thrive. They have consistently be one of the most philanthropic financial institutions in the region and we are thrilled to be awarded a grant to support students this summer so they go back to school in the fall ready to learn and succeed.
