Tierra Del Sol Four Wheel Drive Club of San Diego

Tierra Del Sol Four Wheel Drive Club of San Diego Tierra Del Sol is a family oriented not-for-profit 4x4 club based out of San Diego, California. Two of these men were Roy Pruitt and Bozzy Willis.

It wasn’t until after World War II, where the military jeep had proved so sturdy and utilitarian, that adventurous souls became enamored with its use in our mountainous back country and desert using old Indian and white man trails. Thus, a new type of recreation was being born in the late 1940s and 50s, embraced by a small group of hardy men eager to see what our challenging countryside had to off

er, and the term “ jeeping ” became the definitive name for” Four Wheeling”.In those early years a “Search and Rescue” team of local men with citizen band radios gained an intimate knowledge of the local back country thru their rescue work. Some decided to forego “Search and Rescue” and concentrate on adventure and exploration. Bozzy had always worked closely with the Bureau of Indian Affairs where his father had been employed. Bozzy’s knowledge of the Indians, their trails, culture and history made him an instant leader of the small band of early four wheelers. Eventually the membership evolved into a club named Tierra Del Sol.Tierra Del Sol 4 Wheel Drive Club was incorporated in August 1962 as a non-profit organization and some of the early names are still part of the TDS roster: Albrecht, Arnold, Branch, Collins, Fertig, Londo, Nielson, Rappold, and Stough.

Join TDS crew and our awesome partners San Diego Offroad Coalition and San Diego 4 Wheelers on Saturday, May 2nd, for our first of two Corral Canyon OHV Trail Maintenance/Cleanup of 2026. [See the event in our FB page]

Let's go Wheeling!! Our December event started off with breakfast and was a HUGE success, so we're going to copy & paste. Arrive between 8:30a and 9:00a to air down, catch up with friends, make new ones and determine which trail you will be cleaning up.

San Diego Offroad Coalition and San Diego 4 Wheelers have generously offered their time to cook up and serve breakfast for our volunteers.

Meet at 9:00AM at Four Corners for breakfast, hear from our partners supporting this event, chance to win a great raffle prize, and then head out on the trails and take as long as you want. With your participation, the more volunteers we have onsite at this event, will help our Forest Service partners get the much need funding they need to continue keep this area functioning and open with access to all off-road and outdoor enthusiasts alike.

Our partners joining us are:
US Forest Service - Cleveland National Forest
San Diego Off-road Coalition - SDORC
San Diego 4 Wheelers
San Diego Jeep Club

Location: Corral Canyon - Four Corners
Time: 9:00 AM for Breakfast + raffle
Return: At your leisure
What to Bring: gloves, loppers or cordless saws or pruners (if you have them). We will provide bags and trash grabbers.

Tell your friends, bring the family, and let's go wheeling and help the Forest Service on our Adopt A Trail!

Come out and help keep these public lands open for your use. Your volunteer signature and a few hours helping to maintain these trails, translate to grant money that is used directly at Corral Canyon.

Your RSVP is greatly appreciated to help us prepare the breakfast. Post your comment here with any questions. We'll get back to you as soon as possible.
