Multiple District 35 101st Americana Convention's Special Guest - Past International Director Justin Faber
Justin K. Faber hails from Deckerville, Michigan. His journey with Lions Clubs began in 2001 when he joined the Ubly Lions Club. Justin played a key role in transforming his club from an all-male organization into a diverse and inclusive group, which has since become a cornerstone of its district. In recognition of his leadership and dedication, Justin was elected to serve as an International Director of Lions Clubs International at the association’s 102nd International Convention, held in Milan, Italy, in July 2019.
Throughout his service with the association, Justin has taken on several important roles, including Multiple District Global Service Team Coordinator, Governmental Liaison Committee Chair, and Council Chair. As Council Chair, he demonstrated strong leadership by helping to revise a longstanding law in Michigan that had prevented Lions from collecting donations in the streets. Thanks to his efforts, Lions clubs are now able to raise over one million dollars annually for their causes in the state.
Justin has shared his knowledge and experience as a presenter at both the USA/Canada Leadership Forum and the Michigan Forum. His commitment to service has been acknowledged with several honors, including multiple Presidential Certificates of Appreciation, an International President’s Leadership Award, and an International President’s Award. He was also among the select district governors in Constitutional Area 1 to receive Dr. Yamada’s Dignity Award in both halves of the year. Additionally, he is a Melvin Jones Fellow, reflecting his outstanding contributions to the Lions organization.
Justin’s entrepreneurial journey began at age 19 when he started his first business, Fabe’s Family Concessions. Today, he is also the owner and operator of two other businesses: Ameriheat and Thumb Rentals. He embraces every aspect of small business ownership, including the challenges and rewards that come with it.
He joined the Michigan Army National Guard, where he served as a Military Policeman for eight years. Following the events of September 11, 2001, he was deployed to the Pentagon. His military service has been recognized with several awards and commendations, including being named Soldier of the Year for the 210th Military Police Battalion.
Justin graduated summa cm laude from Central Michigan University (CMU) in Mount Pleasant, Michigan, earning a double major in Political Science and Nonprofit and Public Administration, along with a minor in Leadership. He also holds certificates in Civic Engagement, Public and Social Entrepreneurship, and International Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) Administration. In December 2019, he completed his Master’s in Public Administration.
Beyond his contributions to Lions Clubs, Justin serves on the board of United Healthcare Partners and its subsidiaries, Deckerville Community Hospital and Marlette Regional Hospital. He is also a member of the Thumb Veterans Organization, the Knights of Columbus, and the Michigan Association of Fairs and Exhibitions. He serves on the Sanilac County Veterans Board and has held the position of Chair for the Sanilac County Brownfield Redevelopment Authority. Additionally, Justin has served two terms as Chair on the Sanilac County Board of Commissioners.
Justin’s passion for history is demonstrated by his role as Vice President and board member of the Sanilac County Historical Museum. He enjoys collecting historical artifacts and learning about the past.
In addition to his many commitments, Justin values traveling and, most importantly, cherishes the time he spends with his family.
