What a great start to the year for our YLH Ambassadors!

AdventHealth Sebring generously hosted our YLH Ambassadors Kickoff, with lunch provided by Chick-fil-A Sebring as part of our Chick-fil-A Leader Academy Kickoff experience.

Throughout the day, students worked through a healthcare case study that challenged their leadership and teamwork skills. They were also “BeanBoozled” with some interesting jelly bean flavors—stretching outside their comfort zones, taking a few risks, and sharing plenty of laughs along the way!

The Ambassadors also explored their individual strengths and discovered where they can best serve on the marketing, planning, or development team for the Chick-fil-A Impact Project they will design and carry out this year.

It was a wonderful day filled with learning, laughter, teamwork, and growth. A huge thank-you to AdventHealth Sebring and Chick-fil-A Sebring for investing in the development of these young leaders and helping us begin an exciting year! 🌱

YLH Class XVI officially began its leadership journey at our annual Leadership Retreat!

Students discovered their True Colors and learned how understanding different personalities can help them communicate, collaborate, and work well with others. They also participated in team-building challenges led by our YLH Ambassadors, who did an outstanding job encouraging and guiding the new class.

The retreat also marked the beginning of our year-long journey through The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens. We look forward to watching these students grow in confidence, character, and leadership throughout the year!

What a rewarding morning on beautiful Lake Jackson! Mason G. Smoak Foundation board members and participants from the Youth Leadership Highlands program served as buddy paddlers for consumers from Ridge Area Arc, helping them enjoy a memorable canoe adventure on the water.

A special thank you to Removing the Barriers Initiative for bringing your beautiful canoes and helping make the morning so much fun for everyone involved!

We are also grateful to Chick-fil-A Sebring for a delicious breakfast, AdventHealth Sebring for water and bananas, and Duke Energy for sunscreen and backpacks. Your generosity helped make this experience extra special! Thanks to Zach from for volunteering with our paddlers!
