The Men’s National Development Group Camp wrapped up in Park City, UT this past weekend. Ten men came together for a big week of training and learning together in the mountains of Utah. The camp included skate & classic technique, speed, a 20km pacing workout, bounding intervals, strength at the COE, and one long combo ski up Cascade Springs! We were able to join up with Team Soldier Hollow for a few sessions. Additionally, there were presentations on strength fundamentals, sports psychology, high performance nutrition, training methodology, wisdom from JC Schoonmaker & Emma Ribom, and an afternoon at Top Golf! With many of these skiers heading off to college programs and others returning for their sophomore year, this positive momentum from this camp will carry forward as their paths continue to cross. A big thank you to NNF for making this possible! Another thank you to Chase High Chase High (UAA University of Alaska Ski Team) & Ben Theryl Ben Theyerl (NENSA New England Nordic Ski Association ) for coaching with us!

The Women’s National Development Group Camp concluded on Sunday in Park City, UT. Eleven women traveled from Alaska, Midwest, Pacific Northwest, Rocky, East, Intermountain, and Midwest to learn and train together in Utah. It was a great week of training with technique, speed, a pacing workout, bounding intervals, strength at the COE, and distance sessions in the mountains of Utah! We had presentations touching on sports psychology, high performance nutrition, training methodology, insights from Haley Brewster & Ava Thurston, and presentations from the athletes themselves! The group brought tremendous positive energy and built a great team culture. A big thank you to NNF as well as coaches Kaelyn Woods and Ellen McCarthy who helped make this camp happen!

Athlete Grants will be awarded to qualified, deserving American Nordic athletes who demonstrate the need for financial sponsorship. Distributed funds are intended to be used to offset summer training expenses and will be awarded on or around August 15. All are encouraged to apply!

Alaska REG camp is in full swing. They had a nice warm up run and activation yesterday, followed by a time trial and stength training today. It’s been pretty soggy over the last week in AK (and doesn’t show any signs of letting up), but everyone is still having fun!
