Earth Day Artist Spotlight: George Beauchemin

Today, on Earth Day, we honor the deep connection between creativity, nature, and the lived experiences of artists touched by epilepsy.

This month, we’re proud to spotlight George Beauchemin, an artist whose life—and art—has been shaped by epilepsy. George transforms reclaimed wood into powerful sculptures that carry both environmental meaning and personal truth.

In his own words:
“I have always had a deep love for nature, especially trees, and for how we can use them for more than just firewood. I feel a strong connection to trees and to the process of saving them from landfills or being burned. Turning them into something meaningful brings joy to me and to others. My sculptures are inspired by epilepsy.”

George’s work reminds us that healing, resilience, and environmental stewardship often grow from the same roots—care, intention, and transformation.

At Hidden Truths Project, our mission is to demystify epilepsy and improve the quality of life for individuals, families, and caregivers. Artists like George help us do that by sharing their lived experiences through art that sparks conversation, compassion, and understanding.

Explore George’s artist statement and view his sculptures on our website. www.hiddentruthsproject.com

Let’s celebrate Earth Day by honoring the artists who transform what’s overlooked—whether it’s reclaimed wood or the hidden disability of epilepsy—into something seen, valued, and deeply human.
