The Heart of West Georgia, Inc. was formed to raise funds to help increase awareness of heart health in LaGrange and the surrounding area.

Heart of West Georgia recently presented a check to the LaGrange Police Department to replace three older AED devices that are in need of repair and currently out of service due to age and inability to be repaired.

As first responders, officers quickly come to the scene of medical calls. LaGrange Police Department (LPD) officers are trained in CPR and AED use. Each year, LPD officers receive life-saving commendations for medical assistance given to heart attack victims via the use of AEDs and by administering CPR to citizens.

Heart of West Georgia is grateful to the LaGrange Police Department for being prepared and working diligently for the community's safety.

SHOUT OUT today to our hole sponsors! These are businesses and individuals that make us a priority in their giving. Many have given to Heart of West Georgia for years! Knowing that every penny stays local to be poured back into our communities in Troup County makes a HUGE difference!

Also included in this post is a special recognition to our physicians and Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) for contributing to the golf tournament this year. We appreciate the work they do professionally to help citizens in Troup County (and surrounding counties) stay healthy and well, and we appreciate their support for what we do in Troup County!

Our 24th annual Highland Golf Classic did not disappoint! First of all, we want to give a SHOUT OUT to our honoree for this year's tournament. Allen Doyle is a professional golfer with wins on the Nike Tour (present day Korn Ferry Tour) and PGA TOUR Champions Circuit including four wins in major championships. Additionally, he was named PGA TOUR Champion Player of the Year in 2001. He continues to make an impact in our community through the establishment and management of the Troup County chapter of The First Tee youth golf program. Allen has supported Heart of West Georgia for years, and we were thrilled to recognize him as our honoree for this year's tournament!
