Love and Light Soil Sisters, Root Brothers, and the Community of LaGrange,
Let's chat for a minute. I woule like to pose a question and answer for you all.
WHY THE COMMUNITY NEEDS THE PLANTED ROOTS GARDEN NOW MORE THAN EVER?
Let us ponder thia question. First, food prices are at an all time high. EBT benefits are declining and getting terminated. Communities are disconnected from the importance of gardening and farming. Children are growing up without knowing where food comes from. Most importantly, people are struggling mentally, emotionally, physically, and financially.
THIS is why The Planted Roots Garden matters. This is bigger than planting vegetables.
We are teaching:
๐ฑ Food sovereignty
๐ฑ Community healing
๐ฑ Agriculture & sustainability
๐ฑ Herbal wisdom
๐ฑ Youth responsibility
๐ฑ Collective work and ownership
Every day we are proving that abandoned spaces can become places of healing, education, and growth.
Yet understand, a garden cannot thrive without PEOPLE. The overgrowth keeps growing as the land still needs tending. Our vision still needs hands and the community still needs rebuilding.
One day, the community will either say, โWe helped build that OR we watched it happen from the sidelines.โ
The Planted Roots Garden is becoming: ๐
A food source
๐ฟ A wellness space
๐ง A youth learning center
๐ค A community gathering place
๐ป A symbol of what happens when people work TOGETHER
The Tribe is not waiting for perfect conditions. We are planting, building, and growing NOW. But imagine what this could become if the COMMUNITY truly got behind it.
We need:
๐ฑ Volunteers
๐ฑ Elders
๐ฑ Youth
๐ฑ Garden lovers
๐ฑ Teachers
๐ฑ Healers
๐ฑ Thinkers
๐ฑ Doers
๐ฑ PEOPLE WHO CARE
Because this garden is not just for the members of the Ujima Tribe Inc., it is for LaGrange, GA, our future, generations coming after us. The land is producing. The vision is alive.
Now the question isโฆ
Will the community grow with us? ๐ฟ
