Help Us Bring Hope to Local Students Through Bus Stops.

This summer, Reason 4 Hope will once again be hosting our annual Bus Stop Outreach Program, serving families throughout LaGrange, Noble, Steuben, and surrounding communities.

At each Bus Stop event, we provide:
• Free backpacks
• A light meal for families
• An opportunity to connect with parents and students in their own communities
• Encouragement and support as families prepare for a new school year

For many families, the cost of school supplies continues to be a growing burden. Every year, we see more students needing assistance, and this year is no different.

Last year, through the generosity of local churches, businesses, organizations, and individuals, we distributed nearly 830 backpacks to students in need. This year, we anticipate serving at least that many students once again.

Our goal is not simply to hand out backpacks. We intentionally purchase durable, high-quality backpacks that will last throughout the school year.

So, you might ask why Who Is Reason 4 Hope?

Well, Reason 4 Hope is a 100% volunteer-run ministry serving Northeastern Indiana. Every dollar donated stays in our local communities to support students and families. We have no paid staff and no outside overhead. Just local people helping local kids.

How You Can Help
We are currently seeking sponsors to help fund:

Your donation directly impacts students attending schools throughout LaGrange, Noble, and Steuben Counties.

Club Hope had another meaningful season filled with growth, laughter, service, learning, and relationships. Throughout the spring months, students gathered each Thursday to build friendships, learn valuable life lessons, and experience encouragement in a safe and welcoming environment.

In February, Club Hope kicked off the month with games and activities centered around Valentine’s Day, helping students connect and have fun together. Students also enjoyed a tour of Foltz Bakery. Thanks to Chris for taking the time to walk us through the process and talking with the students. While taking time to have important conversations about anxiety and the challenges many young people face today. Later in the month, discussions focused on screen time and the importance of forgiveness, encouraging students to think about healthy habits and healthy relationships. The month wrapped up with a trip to Ben’s Pretzels, giving students another opportunity to spend time together outside the normal routine.

March, we took the students to the Water’s of LaGrange to play bingo with the residents. The kids did such a wonderful job of interacting and talking with the residents. One highlight of the month was a tour of Trout Station, where students were able to learn and explore something new together. During devotion time, students studied the life of Joseph and talked about overcoming hardships, trusting God through difficult seasons, and remaining faithful even when life does not go as planned. Later in the month, Club Hope spent time at David Rogers’ and Delt Church Park, continuing to strengthen friendships and community connections.

April was filled with creativity, outdoor activities, and special outings. Students colored Easter eggs and even made bouncy balls during one of the club nights. After Spring Break, we was joined by Marion Wiggins of Bloomfield Lavender Apothecary, allowing students to get the hear able what exciting things they are up to and also got to make a oil bottle to take home. Another highlight was a cookout at Gerald’s Cabin, where students enjoyed food, games, and fellowship together outdoors.

In May, Club Hope focused on serving others and celebrating the end of another successful year. Students partnered with Life Care to plant flowers and vegetables for the residents. The year concluded with an End-of-the-Year Party, celebrating all the memories, friendships, lessons, and growth that took place throughout the season.

Club Hope continues to be more than just an after-school program. It is a place where students are encouraged, challenged, supported, and reminded that they are valued. Through games, devotions, service projects, outings, and conversations, students are building relationships and learning life lessons that extend far beyond a single school year.

Again, thank you for your continued support of Club Hope and the students we serve. Your prayers, encouragement, donations, and willingness to invest in young people continue to make a lasting impact throughout our community.

We are also currently working out the final details for our two Saturday Camp Hope events, along with our upcoming Bus Stops outreach program, which we will be posting more information about soon.

In addition, we will be hosting a fundraiser to help raise money for backpacks and school supplies. The fundraiser will take place on July 18th at the courthouse in partnership with Taste Of Hope - BBQ & Catering.

We are thankful for every volunteer, supporter, parent, church partner, and community member who helped make this year possible. Most importantly, we thank God for continuing to open doors for Club Hope to impact students and families throughout our community.

Reason 4 Hope is currently seeking churches to partner with us in serving our communities through our Bus Stop outreach program in South Milford, Wolcottville, and Orland.

At each Bus Stop, we:
Provide free backpacks
Serve a light meal
Spend time connecting with families in the community

This outreach is all about showing love, meeting needs, and building relationships right where people are.

January, where did you go???

In the month of January, we were able to meet 3 out of 4 weeks. We had to cancel our meeting on January 22 due to school being canceled.

January 8, marked our first week back after Christmas break, and we kicked off the new year with 14 kids in attendance. With the unseasonably warm weather, we headed to LaGrange Town Park. Some of the kids played softball at the ball diamond, while others enjoyed the swings, playground, and a game of tag. We later made our way to the basketball court and introduced the kids to a new game, for them, Knock Out. Which they really enjoyed

After returning to The Garage, we played several new games that challenged the kids to listen closely rather than rely only on sight. Following supper, our discussion focused on New Year’s resolutions and how they can be both positive and challenging. The kids shared goals they want to work on this year, how they plan to accomplish them, and how we can encourage and support one another along the way.

January 15, we had 12 kids, and we were joined by Vivian from the Purdue Extension Office. She challenged the kids to created Vision Boards, asking them to think about both short-term and long-term goals. It was great to see the creativity and thought they put into their boards.

After supper, we discussed this important message:

“The people you listen to today will influence where you end up tomorrow.”

We talked about how:

* Social media doesn’t bring peace—it brings comparison.
* The news doesn’t bring hope—it often brings stress.
* Relationships don’t define your worth—and if you’re not ready, they can cause emotional harm.
* Friends who tear you down don’t offer acceptance—they create insecurity.

The takeaway: **stay focused, protect what you let in, and lock in on your goals.**

We did not meet on January 22 due to school being canceled.

On January 29, we had 15 kids in attendance. After grade checks and homework, the kids split into two groups—one played Skip-Bo and the other Pictionary.
We then took the kids to Pizza Hut, which was a new experience for several of them. Some had never been inside Pizza Hut for supper, so that was kind of a neat experience for them and we even had to explain what free refills meant!

Our discussion that night focused on "what it means to be a good friend"
We talked about how listening, being honest, holding one another accountable (even when it’s hard), lifting others up, and not basing friendships on ultimatums is what true friendship is.

This coming Friday is the Community Christmas at The Garage.

This is a free event open to everyone.

There will be free food, karaoke, crafts for the kids and of course a visit from Santa, and possibly the Grinch (he doesn't really rsvp to much).
