So grateful we were able to help transport Sweet Boo today. We drove her from Friends of City of Opelousas Animal Control to Baton Rouge where we met Bobby Williams who delivered this precious cargo to St Francis Animal Sanctuary & Rescue. She has an incredible story of loss & survival, found as a puppy on the side of the road, her story can be read below. 💖

So happy we got to help give Mama her freedom ride Thursday 🐾💗

For the last 4 years she has been cared for by Friends of City of Opelousas Animal Control & Black list animal Rescue pulled her from shelter life to adopt her to a loving home.

2026 so far...
* We celebrated our 1 year anniversary of becoming a
* Second year in a row, we had a tent at Acadiana Animal Aid's Bark in the Park
* Schematic plans for the facility were donated by architect Tommy Hughes
* Adopted 3 of our 5 cats to loving homes, Second Chance Cat Cafe took our 2 senior cats to get them in a social environment where they are thriving
* Partnered with Rêve Coffee Roasters as our coffee supplier
* Working with Annie Cramer as her semester project for University of Louisiana at Lafayette to help us create a social media routine & grow our following
* Added new board member Jessica Randall
* Working with Scott Chappuis Moliere Chappuis Architects to complete our plans & file for permits
* Teamed up with Swamp Pups LLC to be our in-house dog trainer
* Partnered with Krewe of Mid-City Mutt Mamas to rehabilitate Captain Ruffles, in collab with our "in-house" trainers. He has found a foster home with our foster volunteer Kelli Landry
* Partnered with Painted Bayou for our Block by Block fundraising campaign
