- First Saturdays is a monthly volunteer event held in Downtown San Diego organized by Help The Homeless. The UCSD Flying Samaritans have been volunteering at this event for seven years. Being a volunteer favorite, this is a great way to meet other volunteers and build a connection with people in our surrounding communities.
- On Saturday, October 3rd, 2026 we will meet together at 11:15am and head Downtown to organize with other volunteer groups at 12pm. At the beginning of the event, we will build care packages and sort clothes. The event usually wraps up by 2 pm and we will head back to 9156 Regents Rd, La Jolla, CA 92037. The Flying Sam’s Public Health Committee will contact all volunteers chosen a few days prior to the event to confirm your spot via EMAIL! Car assignments will be assigned by that time.

**(note: Free parking is available at the event location. Unfortunately, we do not reimburse any parking fees or gas money at any of our local events!)
