We had such a lovely program at Winona Public Library this morning! There were 2 oboe students present, the daughter of an oboist, and a fellow musician of the Winona Symphony where Susan Miranda use to play! We had a wonderful audience of 37 children and adults!

Let’s meet Larkspur Reed Trio!

Since the organization’s inception, the ensemble has performed at The International Clarinet Association conference in Denver, Colorado, Dublin, Ireland, and Forth Worth, Texas, and they performed at the International Double Reed Society Conference in Flagstaff, AZ. The trio has a strong passion for music education working to reach youth around the world through live performance and educational videos. With a grant from the Minnesota Regional Arts Council the trio collaborated with author Alexandra Alessandri and composer Alejandra Odgers to create a brand new musical story with the children’s story Isabel and Her Colores Go To School. The program was performed live in Minnesota libraries and throughout Tennessee and Kentucky. The video is available at no cost in both English and Spanish on the ensemble’s YouTube page. The ensemble has presented their “Educational Entrepreneurship: Creating Your Own Path as Performers” presentation at the College Music Society Conference in Washington, DC and ClarinetFest in Fort Worth, TX. The trios next venture is “From Sea to Sky,” a program for adults about phenomenal women and their impressive stories. The ensemble will share this program at retirement communities and nursing homes throughout Minnesota.

We had the opportunity to share Isabel and Her Colores Go to School at and it's the first time we've been able to project the book during the performance! It is always a joy to share this story with audiences and to show other musicians the cool things we can do outside of the orchestra and recital hall!
