Our mission is to put a bow in a kid’s hand and lead their family to the Lord—one-on-one. The Kicking Bear Ministry is a nationwide faith-based, non-denominational youth program. Kicking Bear is valued as an important outreach to the Christian community. By using God’s great outdoors and archery as tools, we are able to proclaim the Good News of the Gospel to reach those who have yet to accept Jes
us as their personal Savior. The campouts, shoots and other events are a great way to introduce youth to the outdoors and to the sport of archery. The program’s mission is to help underprivileged and at-risk youth, or any youth, who wants to get into the outdoors. Kicking Bear events are free to everyone who wishes to participate. By encouraging others to reach outside their homes, we can help break the cycle and put dreams in these kids' hearts that will change not only their lives but their families' lives to come. The Kicking Bear Ministry Impacts the youth of tomorrow by giving them opportunities to enjoy God’s creation while experiencing fun outdoor activities such as archery and to make new friends. Nothing we do is as important as the impact we have on today’s youth. These outdoor activities help youth develop values, skills, and relationships. Although the activities are not seen as ends in themselves, they are used as vehicles for creating values, building skills, and solidifying peer and adult relationships. Any engaging activity is one that holds the youth’s attention, awakens their imagination, and inspires them to want to learn more. All youth have equal rights to be accepted, respected, and valued by others. Youth are viewed as individuals to be developed, not problems to be solved and as such should be involved in decision-making and program design. When youth get to choose how, when, in what and with whom to be engaged, they are far more likely to enjoy themselves and behave accordingly. When we listen for understanding, everyone learns – youth and adults alike. We are constantly able to learn from the youth as well as from each other.
