“Alaskans are dying at rates well over 2x the national average from alcohol. We have terribly high numbers of related harms, like domestic violence, sexual assault, su***de, child abuse. These things are not caused by alcohol but are certainly related to alcohol.

“Alcohol costs Alaska $2.4 billion every year. Alcohol kills more people than opioids, m**h, & other illicit substances combined."

Tiffany Hall has been the the CEO of Recover Alaska for ten years. Recover Alaska is a multi-sector action group working to reduce the harm of alcohol use across our state. Tiffany is also the
current chair of the
US Alcohol Policy Alliance.

To our Kodiak Community,
From all of us at Kodiak Reentry, Inc., thank you.

Through your willingness to accept us and support us, we have been able to expand. We are now located at 1117 Mill Bay Road downstairs.
Our footprint has grown and with it our ability to grow our program. Our first year showed us exactly how great the need is, and now we finally have the space to meet it. That would not have been possible without this community stepping up and believing in us.
With a little elbow grease and the help and donations of our volunteers, our community, and our participants, we have turned this new space into a place to call home.
At KRI we work with participants so that they don't just survive but begin to thrive. Many of our paricipants are living proof that Kodiak is a town of 2nd, 3rd, and ongoing chances to improve and make better choices. It is a powerful thing to see what happens when the people of this island come together to elevate what we have worked so hard for. As we continue to restock our donation room, we welcome ongoing donations to support our participants and their families. We are now expanding our efforts to include food security by accepting non-perishable food items, ensuring families have access to both essential supplies and nourishing food.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your trust, your encouragement, and your support. We promise to serve our community, all of you, while working to reduce recidivism to the very best of our ability, every single day.
