Look at the bedazzled books from our teen program last Saturday!! If you couldn't make it, you'll have another chance on Saturday, June 27 from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm. There is NO COST for TEENS to attend this program, and we will provide all the materials, even books (but you're free to bring a favorite of your own). There's no registration required, and you do not need to be a participant in our Summer Reading Program. Just show up!

It's Week 2 of the Summer Reading Program: Archaeology Week! Registered participants can stop in anytime we are open to make a slime canopic jar. Don't forget to keep track of your minutes read, and bring in your reading logs and Book Bingo sheets for entries into our prize drawings. Attention Summer Reading Program Participants! We still have room in ALL of our Special Event Programs. If you are registered for the Summer Reading Program and would like to join in these events, please call, email, or stop in. You can find the list under "Special Events" in your registration packet. Next up is Shoebox Archaeology at Knox Community Park (Peanut Park) with a guest archaeologist from DCNR! It takes place on Monday, June 15 at 11:00 am. You can still register for this event!

When you think of "Summer Reading" maybe you think of kids avoiding the "summer slump." Or maybe your children are participating in our Summer Reading Program. But did you know there are THREE different challenges going on for adult patrons of Knox Public Library right now? Whether you have just a little time to commit, or some extra hours this summer, you can find a Summer Reading Challenge that fits. (Or complete them all!)

1. You can pick up a Bookopoly game board at the Library. Complete one of the challenges, or the whole game board to earn entries into drawings for local gift cards.

2. You can join the Oil Creek Library District's Summer Reading Challenge. Details are here: https://oilcreek.org/summer-reading-challenge-2026/

3. You can take an hour or so and walk around downtown Knox to find clues to the riddle: "What is the true reason dinosaurs went extinct?" Stop at the Library for an entry form!
