🚨URGENT: Salem & Pearl Update🚨

Salem and Pearl are both showing possible signs of a panleukopenia reinfection. Unfortunately, they cannot be retested right now because their recent infection would still cause a positive result.

Both have had vomiting and diarrhea, and they now need intensive, around-the-clock supportive care to prevent serious secondary complications. We are desperately hoping this is NOT a reinfection, but we simply won’t know for sure. 💔

We urgently need help ordering additional medications and supplies for these two little fighters. Any donation, no matter the amount, can make a difference.🙏🐾

We are officially looking for a building of our own!🎉 The building we’re currently considering is around $5,000 but we’d love to raise at least $10,000 to give us more options and flexibility.

The property will also need some foundation work and an accessible parking area, so every donation will make a huge difference!

💗General Update💗

Thea continues to do so well with her fluids, and we’re so thankful she tolerates them like a champ. Unfortunately, her diarrhea is still not resolving, so we’ll be calling her vet tomorrow to discuss adding or adjusting medications to help get her feeling better.

We also want to be transparent that funds are extremely low right now. Our first group of kittens, along with their two moms, will be getting spayed/neutered soon, adding another significant expense for the rescue.

Our panleukopenia kittens were kept in observation a little longer just to be absolutely sure they were in the clear. We’re happy to share that they are no longer on any medications!🥹❤️

Salem has her follow-up appointment tomorrow, and we’re really hoping she gets a good report. 🤞 She has been through so much, and we’re praying she continues moving in the right direction.

Our two little runts will also have blood work repeated in about a month to make sure their blood counts are recovering and bouncing back as they should.

We have a lot happening at the rescue right now, and every donation, share, and bit of support truly makes a difference. ❤️🐾 Thank you for continuing to stand behind these babies and Whisker Woods Rescue.

🐾WE NEED BLANKET & TOWEL DONATIONS!🐾

With the number of kittens and cats currently in our care, we are going through blankets and towels multiple times a day. Between bedding changes, accidents, and keeping our rescues clean, warm, and comfortable, our supply of extras is quickly running low. ❤️

We are asking for donations of clean, gently used or new blankets and towels to help us keep up with the constant need.

Every towel and blanket donated helps us provide a clean, cozy, and safe space for the animals in our care. 🐱🐾

🐾Thea Update!🐾

We are officially calling her Thea now that we know she is actually a girl! 💕 We think the name suits her perfectly.

Thea’s vet visit went well yesterday. She was able to have chest X-rays done, although she got a little feisty, so the veterinary team was only able to get one view. Even with the limited view, the X-ray revealed several infiltrates in her lungs, which are consistent with pneumonia.

Thea is continuing to receive fluids to help keep her hydrated, and she has also been started on an antibiotic to treat the pneumonia. She was given a probiotic as well to help support her digestive system and hopefully get her diarrhea under control.

She has been through so much already, but we’re continuing to give her the care and support she needs. Please keep sweet Thea in your thoughts as she works toward feeling better. 🐾💕

Teddy update! We are currently at the vet, and we’ve confirmed that Teddy is actually a girl—which we had suspected! 🩷

Her lungs are sounding very concerning, so the vet is doing X-rays to get a better idea of what may be going on. We’ll keep everyone updated as soon as we know more.

Any donations toward Teddy’s care are greatly appreciated. Thank you all for your continued love and support for this sweet girl! 🐾💕

Teddy Needs Us 💔

Teddy seems far too uncomfortable today, and after doing a quick assessment this morning, we found that he is running a fever of 104°F. Given everything he has been dealing with, we’ve made the decision to get him to the vet today.

We suspect Teddy may need to be hospitalized, which would mean additional and unexpected costs. But right now, our priority is simply doing what is best for Teddy and getting him the care he needs❤️‍🩹

We know we’ve asked for so much recently, but if you’re able to donate toward Teddy’s veterinary care, any amount would mean so much to us and help us get him through this.

Teddy’s Vet Care 💙

Teddy received his dewormer Tuesday evening, but based on what we’re seeing, it appears he has a severe parasite infestation and needs to be seen by a veterinarian. He fortunately is continuing to gain weight!

We’d like to get Teddy in next week, especially since he is beginning to show signs of discomfort. His appointment and treatment are expected to cost around $550.

We are able to cover the majority of this expense, but doing so would leave us with very little to put toward our everyday rescue supplies. With everything we’ve been facing recently, we’re asking for a little extra help to make sure Teddy can get the care he needs without taking away from the supplies needed for all of the other cats in our care.
