💗 KGCC WANTS TO BRING THE CLOSET TO YOU! 💗

At the King George Community Closet, we know that sometimes the biggest barrier to getting help isn’t knowing where to go. Sometimes it’s simply having a way to get there.

There are families in our community without reliable transportation, families temporarily living in hotels, and parents doing everything they can while navigating difficult circumstances. We want to make sure those families aren’t forgotten. 🌿

We are looking into starting a once a month KGCC Mobile Outreach Day! We would load up clothing, shoes, hygiene products, baby essentials, household necessities, and other available items and bring them directly to locations where families are staying.

But we need YOUR help! 💕

We’re trying to identify hotels, motels, extended stay facilities, or other temporary housing locations in King George and our surrounding communities that are currently housing families in need.

If you know of a facility where families are staying, please comment below or privately message the King George Community Closet.

We do NOT need anyone’s personal information or the names of families. We are simply looking for the names and locations of facilities so we can determine where our mobile outreach could make the biggest impact.

💕 If someone cannot get to KGCC, we want to find a way for KGCC to get to them.

No judgment. No shame. Just compassion, dignity, and neighbors helping neighbors. 💗

Happy Friday from the King George Community Closet! 💕🌿

We hope everyone has an AMAZING Friday and a wonderful weekend! We have been busy behind the scenes, and there are so many exciting things coming up for our community! 🥰

🍂 STAY TUNED because KGCC has some BIG things ahead!

🧥 Operation Warm Coat Drive — helping make sure local children have warm coats as the colder months arrive!

🎃 Trunk or Treats — we’ll be out in the community passing out candy, having fun, and celebrating spooky season with all of you!

👻 Halloween Boo Baskets — OF COURSE we can’t forget these! We have had such an incredible response, and we cannot wait to start putting together some Halloween magic for our local children and families!

Our KGCC Boo Bags are coming together, and we need YOUR help filling them with lots of Halloween treats! 🎃🩷

Every bag of candy donated helps us make Halloween a little sweeter for children in our community. Whether you donate one bag or a whole cart full, every single donation makes a difference!

💗 THIS is what community is supposed to look like. 💗

I want to take a minute to personally thank Spreading Smiles at Renatos for the incredible support they have shown King George Community Closet and, more importantly, the children we serve.

Because of their generosity, we have been blessed with BRAND NEW Happy Nation clothing that we are able to put directly into the hands of children who truly need it.

Children in foster care.

Children currently calling a hotel room home.

Children being raised by a single mom or dad doing everything they can to make ends meet.

Children who may not always get the experience of picking out something brand new, with the tags still attached, that is just for THEM. 💕

Those moments are exactly why I started King George Community Closet.

But one thing I have learned through this journey is that we were never meant to do this alone.

There are so many incredible organizations in our area doing amazing things, and I truly believe we make the biggest difference when we stop looking at each other as separate organizations and start looking at each other as PARTNERS.

When one nonprofit has an abundance, we share it. When another organization has a family who needs something, we help. When resources are passed from one organization to another, they reach farther than they ever could sitting in one building.

Because at the end of the day, it isn't about whose organization helped the family.

It's about the family getting helped. ❤️

If you’re new to our page, WELCOME! 💗 We wanted to share a little about who we are, what we do, and how you can get involved!

King George Community Closet, also known as KGCC, is a local 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to helping individuals and families in our community access everyday essentials completely FREE of charge.

🌿 WHAT WE OFFER

Depending on current donations and availability, we provide:

👕 Clothing for babies, children, teens, women & men
👟 Shoes
🍼 Baby essentials
🧴 Hygiene & personal care products
🏠 Household essentials
🐾 Pet supplies
🥫 Pantry & food items
🎒 School supplies
🧥 Seasonal items
🎄 Holiday assistance & special community programs
❤️ And so much more!

There is NO charge for the items we provide. Our goal is to create a welcoming, judgment-free place where neighbors can help neighbors.

🕒 CLOSET HOURS

Tuesday: 6:30 PM – 8:00 PM
Thursday: 6:30 PM – 8:00 PM
Sunday: 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM

📅 APPOINTMENTS

We operate by appointment so that each family has time to look through the items we currently have available.

Because KGCC is completely donation-based, our inventory changes constantly and we cannot guarantee specific items, brands, or sizes. You are welcome to look through everything we currently have available during your appointment!

We LOVE our volunteers! We regularly need help sorting donations, organizing the closet, preparing for events, putting together seasonal programs, and getting our space ready.

Community service hours are welcome, too!

KGCC is volunteer-run and supported by the generosity of our community. We believe receiving help should never come with embarrassment or judgment.

Whether someone needs a few outfits for their children, shoes for school, household necessities, hygiene supplies, or simply a little extra help getting through a difficult season, we want them to know their community is here.

🎃👻 BOO BASKET PREP IS STARTING! 👻🎃

It’s almost time to pull out all of our Halloween goodies and start getting everything ready for our King George Community Closet Boo Baskets! 🧡🖤

We have been collecting some of the CUTEST Halloween finds, and we are so excited to start sorting, organizing, and putting everything together for our local families! 🎃🍬

We are still accepting donations to help us fill our Boo Baskets! Some things we can always use include:

🍭 Candy & individually wrapped treats
🎃 Small Halloween toys
👻 Stickers, pencils & little surprises
🕷️ Halloween goodies and trinkets

Happy Monday from The King George Community Closet! 💗🌿

We hope everyone has a wonderful week filled with kindness, gratitude, and a little extra joy! Here are a few important KGCC reminders for this week:

🎃👻 COMMUNITY BOO BASKETS! 👻🎃
Our Boo Basket sign-ups are still OPEN! We are so excited to bring a little Halloween fun to families in our community again this year.

We have a BUSY and exciting weekend ahead of us at KGCC!

This weekend we’ll officially be starting the MOVING process as we work toward getting everything organized and ready for our new space!

We’ll ALSO be starting on our Community Boo Baskets! We have had such an amazing response already, and we cannot wait to start putting these special Halloween surprises together for local children and families!
