ArtCares for Kids and the KB Creative Sewing Group recently joined together to create and collect thoughtful gifts for ICUbaby.org families.

ICU baby is an amazing organization whose mission is to transform the NICU experience by providing a variety of resources that directly support families with babies in the NICU.

Their generous donation included onesies, bibs, socks, and these beautiful handmade baby blankets.

Both groups believe in the power of neighbors coming together to actively support families in need. The Key Biscayne Community Foundation is proud to celebrate this heartfelt community collaboration and the comfort it will bring to families experiencing the NICU.

Thank you to these talented and compassionate volunteers for wrapping the families served by ICU baby in comfort, care, and love. 🧡🩡

Congratulations to the 28 talented students from Design and Architecture Senior High (DASH) who are on their way to New York City!🍎✈️

Through the DASH: Young Designers Scholarship Fund, these exceptional students will attend prestigious pre-college programs at Parsons School of Design and the School of Visual Arts, where they will strengthen their portfolios, earn college credit, learn from industry leaders, and take the next step toward their creative futures.

Before departing, each student received essentials for campus life, including luggage, bedding, towels, and a stipend, all to help them confidently begin this incredible journey.

The Key Biscayne Community Foundation is proud to support this life-changing opportunity, created by the visionary Rosa de la Cruz and continued through the generosity of Carlos de la Cruz, Sr., the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, Craig Robins and Jackie Soffer, the Milstein and Hankin Family Foundation, the Horne Family Foundation, Mary M. and Sash A. Spencer, and many other dedicated supporters.

Help Protect Key Biscayne's Shorebirds!🐦 A day at the beach can do more than create lasting memories. It can help protect some of the world's most incredible migratory birds.

The Key Biscayne Community Foundation is proud to support the Crandon Park Shorebird Project, led by Tropical Audubon Society in partnership with Miami-Dade County Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces.

Crandon Park provides an essential habitat for migratory shorebirds, including Sanderlings, Semipalmated Plovers, and the federally threatened Piping Plover. Many of these birds travel thousands of miles from Arctic breeding grounds before arriving on the shores of Key Biscayne.

On June 10, KBCF was pleased to present a grant supporting this important initiative to Tropical Audubon Society Education Director Daniel Mlodozeniec and Board Member Karen Beber Futernick (pictured). This funding will help expand community science efforts that improve our understanding of how shorebirds use Crandon Park and inform future conservation and habitat protection.

You can be part of the effort. Simply download the iNaturalist app and record your shorebird sightings while visiting Crandon Park.Β

Every observation contributes valuable data that helps identify critical habitat, guides conservation efforts, and supports measures to reduce disturbances to these remarkable birds.

Together, we can help ensure that Key Biscayne remains a safe haven for migratory shorebirds for generations to come.

Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate our nation's 250th birthday. From the spectacular U.S. Air Force flyover to the patriotic parade, smiling faces, and neighbors gathering together, it was a day filled with hometown pride and unforgettable memories.

A heartfelt thank you to the Village of Key Biscayne, the 4th of July Parade Committee, our parade participants, volunteers, sponsors, first responders, and everyone who helped make this celebration such a success.
