The 2026 Key Biscayne Film Festival was a landmark year for local cinema, bringing together an incredible array of storytellers, community leaders, and film enthusiasts. As we look back on the highlights of our third year, the energy on the island remains a testament to the power of shared human stories.
This year’s recap captures the spirit of a festival that is quickly becoming a cornerstone of the South Florida arts scene. As noted in the highlights:
"It’s really about the community and it’s wonderful to see the community rallying around this festival," said Emmy-nominated producer Alexis Garcia ().
From heartwarming narratives to thought-provoking documentaries, 2026 stood out for its depth of programming and its ability to connect creators directly with their audience. Reflecting on the growth of the event, filmmaker and festival co-founder Isabel Custer () said: "It was the year that we had most directors, producers and filmmakers come and talk about their projects, their careers, their lives."
Thank you to everyone who supported this vision and helped make 2026 our most successful year yet. The screens may be dark for now, but the conversations continue.
