Another awesome weekend of Wrestling! Freestyle State was Saturday and Greco State was Sunday.
Congrats to all who competed this weekend, especially Moses Kluck who took 4th at Freestyle and Tyler Rabuck who took 6th at Greco!

Last night we held our end of Folkstyle season banquet and awards. We started out the awards by recognizing our HS State Qualifiers (Ethan Immel, Bryston Scoles, Brayden Loehr, Eli Ogi, and Carter Heimerman) as well as our HS State Champions (Ethan Immel & Bryston Scoles) for their accomplishments this season.
We then Announced our two KIWC Scholarship Recipients for this year both of whom have committed to wresting in college next season!

-Brayden Loehr (UW Whitewater)

We honored our Youth State Qualifiers as Well as our Youth State Placers!
5 wrestlers made the podium at Youth Folkstyle State this season!

We gave out 1 Indian Award this year.
The Indian Award is given to 8th grade wrestlers who were part of the club for every year the were eligible. For this group of 8th graders that means they started in 4K and stuck with it through 8th grade, 10 years in the club!
This Year Xack Kleinke was the only Indian Award recipient. Xack received a shadow box containing one of the original club singlets (which he wore 1-2 years) and his 8th grade singlet.

We handed out awards for the K-3rd grade boys, the 4th-8th grade boys, and the girls groups for:
Rookie of the year
Most improved
Grit Award
Sportsmanship Award
MVW (Most Valuable Wrestler)

Thank you to all the coaches, and parents for everything they do to help this club thrive throughout the season. Also thank you to our KIWC board members who put in a ton of work behind the scenes to make this club as special as it is.

We went to Madison with 26, came home with 5 trophies! Congrats to Rufio, Wolfgang, Moses, Kristian, and Molly!

Day 3 2026 WWF YOUTH STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS recap:
We started out the day with 8 girls.
3 made it to the blood round.
2 had Great matches, but came up a little bit short.
BUT THE LAST GIRL STANDING BRINGS HOME THE 5TH TROPHY OF THE WEEKEND!

Molly makes the podium for her 2nd year taking 6th place after a tough day on the mat!

I can’t say enough about the work this girl puts in on the mat. She’s going to (still) be a force to be reckoned with next year when she moves up to HS wrestling!
This club will be behind you cheering you on in your new journey! Congratulations Molly!
