3 years ago today our sister Tracy lost her battle with occupational cancer. Please keep her family in your thoughts and we will continue to work to reduce duty related cancer deaths by advocating for better equipment, quicker decon and better work practices for all of our members.

Today L2150 members dropped off 156 coats to Kettering City Schools counselors to give to students who may not have a winter coat. L2150 has participated in Operation Warm for over a decade and provided over 700 coats to Kettering school children who need a warm winter coat.

It’s time to contact your State Senators. Kettering’s Sen. Blackshear is a proud supporter of our mission, even doing ride alongs with police and fire departments in his district. It’s time to call yours and urge them to support the amendment that fixes a funding disparity that has existed for 40 years.

The OAPFF and Ohio FOP are working with legislators to protect the future of the Ohio Police and Fire Pension Fund (OP&F) and the dignified retirements of public safety professionals across Ohio.

We need your help. Contact your state senator this week and ask them to support the budget amendment proposed by Senator Andrew Brenner and Senator Al Cutrona and protect your retirement.

Today we pause to remember our sister Tracy Leach. Tracy succumbed to occupational cancer 2 years ago today. As we celebrate the holiday season take the time to get your checkups scheduled and keep your gear clean to lessen the chance of contracting cancer from job exposures.
