We want to share our heartfelt gratitude to the Kennewick Fire Department, Kennewick Police Department and Papa Dean for stopping by and supporting our KA 8U All-Stars car wash fundraiser over the weekend.

The boys had an unforgettable day meeting local first responders, checking out the fire engine and patrol vehicle, and raising funds for their All-Star season. We appreciate the men and women who serve our community and the time they took to encourage these young athletes.

⚾ Summer Sandlot Baseball
📅 June 8 – July 13
🕠 Mondays at 5:30 PM

Pitching machine format • Open stealing • No umpires •

Scores are kept, but standings don’t matter.

This is baseball the way many of us remember it, just a field, friends, sunshine, some solid play time to get a little rowdy and summer memories that last for-eh-verrrr.

We’re also looking for coaches who want to help make this experience possible for our players so please, holler at us if you’re noncommittal but can do a Mondays-only month long commitment ;) We know y’all exist. We see you waiting for your moment to..sorta commit. And we are grateful!

Today we pause to honor and remember the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

From all of us at Kennewick American Youth Baseball, we also want to extend our gratitude to the veterans and military families within our KA community whether through family ties, sponsorships, volunteerism, or simply following along and supporting the next generation.

Because of your service and sacrifice, our kids get to grow up surrounded by community, friendship, baseball, and freedom.

Thank you, veterans. We remember, honor, and appreciate you today and always. ❤️🤍💙

Next up in our “12” spotlight series, players closing out their time at KAYB in 2026:

Malakai Villalobos.

A Mariners fan and pitcher/first baseman for Boyd’s Tree 12U 70 this year, Malakai has spent the last 2 years at KA competing hard and stepping up in big moments.

One of Malakai’s favorite KA memories was opening up on the mound at the 10U World Series in Indiana. ⚾️🔥

That takes confidence, composure, and grit way beyond your years. Keep showing up ready for the moment, Malakai. We are VERY proud of you!

A little love tonight for someone who’s spent decades loving this league back.

Glen Stewart.

Glen has helped shape Kennewick American Youth Baseball through leadership, consistency, mentorship, and a genuine love for the game. Generations of kids, parents, coaches, and umpires have stepped onto these fields and experienced the kind of positive baseball environment that doesn’t happen until someone steps up again and again.

Glen keeps showing up.

Last night, Glen threw the opening pitch for our Championship games. We think he is pretty special and absolutely deserving of honor and recognition for his continued effort.

Tonight we’d love to hear your favorite memories, funny stories, moments, or little-known facts about Glen and the impact he’s had on our baseball community over the years. ❤️💙

Glen, you’ve made your mark and on behalf of the league and each member who’s come before and pioneered with you, Thank You for writing your legacy into our community. We are all forever grateful.
