Good News, Nancy’s scheduled back surgery went well and she is in recovery.
She is going to get some well deserved time of rest.
We are organizing a meal train for the next few weeks. You can sign up here:

Nancy is having back surgery Oct 21. Wednesday. She will be required to take it easy for a few weeks after. Please help me bless her and Dan by signing up and taking a meal to ease their schedules a bit.

🌾 Our teachers eat hay—even on their days off!

Behind every LyonHeart program are daily chores, fresh water, feed, hoof care, veterinary care, and people paying attention to what each horse needs.

Our “drama pony” gives youth plenty of opportunities to practice patience, boundaries, and responsibility. Her care also reminds us that being a good partner means paying attention to someone else’s needs.

Friendship takes more than having fun together—it takes care, communication, and thoughtful choices.

🐴 “I need some help” can be a powerful thing to say.

When a horse-partnered challenge feels difficult, youth have an opportunity to practice asking for support, listening to an idea, and deciding what to try next.

We all need those skills. At school. At work. In our relationships.

🐴 Bullet knows how to get you thinking!

Working with him gives youth opportunities to practice clear directions, patience, and assertiveness. When things aren’t going as planned, the question becomes: “What could I change about my approach?”

That’s a lesson that reaches far beyond the arena.

Bullet also has his own routine—“yoga stretches” before hoof picking! 😊

This beautiful Quarter horse has helped youth practice patience, found their courage, and learn to trust themselves. Sometimes growth looks like speaking up. Sometimes it looks like slowing down and taking a breath.

And sometimes Misty reminds us there’s always time for a good butt scratch! 😊

Originally from Oslo, Norway, Cecilie loves cooking, traveling, and all things creative—from photography and videography to jewelry making and digital art. Her favorite dish? Anything delicious! Her go-to drink is Peach Pear LaCroix.

Cecilie joined our board because she believes in learning through experience and supports LyonHeart’s work helping youth build social skills, self-awareness, and success in learning.
