Kearney/Buffalo County CASA

Kearney/Buffalo County CASA Court Appointed Special Advocates are appointed by the Court judge to represent
the best interest of abused and neglected children in the court system.

CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates)

support and promote court appointed volunteer advocacy so that every abused or neglected child can be safe, establish permanence, and have the opportunity to thrive. A CASA
volunteer acts as the "eyes and ears" of children involved in court proceedings,
and offer judges a critical perspective of what is in the best interests of each child,
based on informa

tion gathered first-hand through research, interviews, and
observations. Studies show that once a CASA volunteer is assigned to an
abused or neglected child that the child is much more likely to receive vital services
such as health care, education, and therapy. By getting involved as a CASA, you
can help create healthier families and communities - and change the course of a
child's life.

The best thing about being a CASA volunteer? ❤️

Being the person who shows up when a child needs someone most.

You listen. You care. You speak up. You remind them that they matter and they are not alone.

You can’t change what they’ve been through, but you can change how they walk through it.

Be their voice. Be their advocate. Be their CASA. ❤️

Every number represents a child. Every child deserves a voice. ❤️

In Nebraska, children in foster care range from babies and toddlers to teenagers preparing for adulthood. On March 31, 2026:

👧 34.5% were age 5 and under
🧒 34.7% were ages 6–12
🧑 30.8% were ages 13–18

Boys and girls are nearly equally represented—but no matter their age or gender, every child deserves someone in their corner.

That’s where CASA comes in. A CASA volunteer listens, advocates, and walks alongside a child during one of the most difficult times in their life.

You can be that person. You can make a difference. ❤️

Help us ensure every child in Kearney and Buffalo Counties has a voice. Call our office at 308-865-5675 to learn more about becoming a CASA Volunteer.

Family Fun Month ❤️

August is Family Fun Month—a perfect reminder that some of the most meaningful moments are created simply by spending time together.

For children involved with CASA, connection, consistency, and positive experiences with their families matter. Whether it’s playing a game, going for a walk, cooking together, or sharing a laugh, these simple moments can create memories that last a lifetime.

At CASA, we believe every child deserves to feel loved, supported, and connected. 💙

This Family Fun Month, make time for the children in your life. Put down the phones, have some fun, and make a memory together! 🌟

Every child deserves someone in their corner. ❤️

Someone who listens.
Someone who shows up.
Someone who speaks up when they can’t.

Being a CASA means being that person for a child when they need it most.

One voice. One relationship. One child at a time. 💙
