🦦🧘 Meet Ollie Otter, our meditating friend who reminds us that sometimes the most powerful thing we can do is simply be still. 💜

Meditation doesn't have to mean sitting in silence for an hour. It can be as simple as taking a few intentional breaths, noticing what's happening around you, and giving your mind a moment to rest.

✨ Try this with Ollie:
💜 Find a comfortable spot
💜 Take three slow, deep breaths
💜 Notice the feeling of your feet on the ground or your body in your chair
💜 Gently bring your attention back to your breath when your mind wanders
💜 Remind yourself: progress, not perfection

A few moments of mindfulness can help create a sense of calm in the middle of a busy day. One breath at a time. 🫶

If you're struggling and need someone to talk to, help is available 24/7. Text HOPELINE to 741741 to connect with a trained crisis counselor. 💜

Educational Purpose Notice:
This video is intended for educational and awareness purposes. The coping skill highlighted may be helpful for some individuals, but everyone's mental health journey is unique. If you are struggling, consider reaching out to a trusted support system or mental health professional.

What if the thing you've been worrying about never happens?

So much of our energy gets spent imagining worst-case scenarios that we forget to leave room for the possibilities that could change our lives for the better.

The job might work out.
The relationship might grow stronger.
The opportunity might lead somewhere amazing.
The hard season might not last forever.

Fear asks, "What if it all goes wrong?"
Hope asks, "What if it all goes right?"

Today, give yourself permission to believe good things are possible too. 💜

💜 Sometimes the path forward feels broken, uncertain, or overgrown.
Take the next step anyway.
You might be closer than you think.

🎶 “Playing an instrument is like a full‑body workout for your brain.” – Anita Collins

At the Center for Su***de Awareness, we’re committed to strengthening emotional resilience and fostering hope—and music offers a powerful path forward.

🧠 Neuroscience insight: When you play an instrument, your brain lights up—engaging auditory, visual, and motor regions simultaneously. It sparks cognitive coordination, memory, and emotional regulation

💡 Why this matters for mental health:

It builds concentration and stress-relief tools during emotional crises.

Boosted memory & executive function help individuals plan safety strategies and adapt to change.

Enhanced emotional processing can ease feelings of overwhelm and reduce isolation.

📽️ Learn why music matters: ▶️ Watch “How playing an instrument benefits your brain” by Anita Collins and spread the message of healing through the power of sound.

Together, let’s turn notes into hope.

💜 Throwback to an Important Conversation About Mental Health in the Workplace 💜

Last September, our Executive Director, Barb Bigalke, joined Spectrum News to discuss the importance of su***de awareness and prevention in the workplace during National Su***de Prevention Month. The story highlighted a Fox Valley construction company that chose to "stand down" and have real conversations about mental health, reminding us that checking in on one another can save lives.

Mental health challenges don't only happen outside of work. They affect our coworkers, friends, family members, and neighbors every day. Creating environments where people feel safe asking for help and talking about what they're experiencing can make all the difference.

At the Center for Su***de Awareness, we believe that hope starts with connection. Through education, training, outreach, and HOPELINE™, we're working to make sure people know they don't have to struggle alone.

Thank you to every employer, organization, and community leader willing to have these conversations. Together, we're reducing stigma and creating more opportunities for people to reach out before a crisis occurs. 💜

That’s the heart behind Project REST™.

When life feels heavy, overwhelming, anxious, lonely, or exhausting, you deserve space to pause and breathe.

💜 You are enough.
💜 You are worthy.

💜 Tag a friend who needs this reminder today.

Life doesn't always go as planned. There will be setbacks, detours, and days when giving up feels easier.

But keep going.

Keep believing in yourself.
Keep chasing your goals.
Keep taking one step at a time.

Sometimes all it takes is one person in your corner reminding you that you're capable of more than you realize.

👇 Tag someone who inspires you, supports you, or never lets you quit.

💜 And if you're struggling right now, remember: you don't have to face it alone.

🦌💜 Hunting the Good

The good isn't always loud.

Sometimes it's kindness.
Sometimes it's progress.
Sometimes it's gratitude.
Sometimes it's simply making it through today.

What you practice noticing, your brain learns to find.

Keep hunting for the good. 💜
