Thank you to all the guests, artists, vendors and performers who made our Block Party so memorable 🎻🥁🎙🎸💃

It was very cool to see so much talent in one place at one time. Many of these artists are KCK based!

The best part was seeing our neighbors celebrated, seen, and having a good time. Our community is worth it 💚

This time last week, we were getting our hands dirty at Splitlog Farm! 🚜🌱

Alongside our incredible partners BlueKC, BuildTrybe and AIA
our team cleared out overgrown areas, decaying structures, trash and set the foundation for the farm's next chapter in the Bethany neighborhood 😊

Splitlog Farm has a long history as a vital food source in Wyandotte County, historically producing over 1,500 pounds of fresh, free produce for local families. We’re proud to build on that history and bring fresh food, an outdoor classroom and green space, and community back to this neighborhood.

Build WyCo would like to introduce you to our new team member, Ayanna! 🎉

Ayanna Johnson (she/her) is the AmeriCorps VISTA Stewardship Coordinator for the Homeownership Team at Build WyCo. Originally from Pearl, Mississippi, she is passionate about serving her community and helping others build a brighter future. Before joining us, Ayanna served a 10-month term with AmeriCorps NCCC, traveling across six states and gaining unforgettable experiences along the way.

Her long-term goal is to open her own homeless shelter to create a safe, supportive space for people in need. In her free time, you can usually find Ayanna drumming, painting, or hanging out with her dog, Jet!

+ Medical insurance (including an employer-paid plan)
+ Dental, vision and retirement benefits
+10 paid holidays, paid winter break and PTO

🔎 Who we're looking for:
+ Bilingual in English and Spanish
+ 2 or more years in an office setting OR housing/community development
+ Proficient in Microsoft Office and database management

🌟 It’s a bonus if you’re also:
+ Experienced with Salesforce or Appfolio
+ Familiar with Burmese/Nepalese language

☑ Some of what you’d be doing:
+ Schedule customers for classes and meetings with Build WyCo’s Homeownership counselors
+ Offer responsive, respectful customer service for all walk in customers from Build WyCo’s front desk
+ Manage customer intake process including initial assessment, information gathering, and document collection
+ Provide an inclusive customer intake process by offering translation and other accommodations
