Thank you to this incredible group of Extra Life gamers who gifted a huge selection of board games, comic magazines, and cards to the pediatric unit at the University of Kansas Medical Center to help stock the playroom.

Collectively, this group of gamers has raised over $63,000 as individuals throughout their time fundraising in the Extra Life program. We can't thank them enough for their support and passion! 💙

Thanks to Children’s Miracle Network funding, every inpatient child admitted in the Pediatrics department receives a special welcome from our Child Life Specialist — including a CMN teddy bear and a gift chosen just for them. 🧸

Because CMN is there for the big moments — and the little ones, too.

💙 Provider Spotlight: Meet Dr. Lauer!

As a pediatrician, Dr. Stephen Lauer loves watching kids grow, reach milestones and become their own unique selves. He’s also passionate about investing in kids and the families who care for them.

That’s why he’s passionate about the partnership between KU Pediatrics and Children’s Miracle Network. CMN funds help provide new equipment, innovative programs, facility improvements and support for families—making a difference for kids and their care teams every day.

“You’ll never make a better investment—whether it’s $10 or $1 million (please, the latter),” Dr. Lauer says with a smile. “The return on investment with kids is huge.”

Outside of the hospital, Dr. Lauer is a proud Jayhawks fan, a “reasonably good” cook and a family man. We are so grateful to have him as a fierce supporter of the CMN mission💙
