Sarah and Anne were invited to attend the Youth Mental Health Roundtable discussion in Springfield, IL with Governor JB Pritzker, Chief Officer for Children’s Behavioral Health Transformation Dana Weiner, State Superintendent Tony Sanders, and Director of Illinois Department of Public Health Sameer Vohra to commemorate Mental Health Awareness Month. This event, was moderated by Illinois students, and explored the topic of youth mental health, the impact of social media, and the ways in which our state can promote the responsible use of technology to safeguard child well-being and reduce the impact of social media on youth mental health. ☀💚☀💚

Not only did she receive her Social Work Pin this morning, but she was also honored with the Spirit of Social Work Award from Olivet Nazarene University! 🏅

The Spirit of Social Work Award recognizes a student’s outstanding contributions to the field of Social Work, and the recipient is voted on by fellow senior classmates — making this recognition even more meaningful.

Anne represented Project SUN and the future Kankakee Affiliate for NAMI in Springfield during Behavioral Health Advocacy Day. She also got to hear Representative Haas read the House Bill 4982 at committee which will have 988 displayed at pharmacies. Anne suggested this idea to Rep Haas last summer and we at Project Sun are excited to follow this bill. ☀️
