🐾💕 Everyone, meet Cricket! 💕🐾

This tiny but mighty little girl came to Fetch Cares at just 5 days old! 🥹❤️

Cricket was born with a cleft palate, making her unable to nurse normally and requiring her to be tube-fed. Our goal is to keep her growing and thriving until she’s big enough to undergo surgery to repair her palate.

And so far, Cricket is crushing it! 💪 She’s strong, active, full of life, and gaining weight like a CHAMP!

But keeping this little fighter thriving is no small task. It requires round-the-clock care, including tube feeding every TWO hours, day and night, keeping her warm, helping her potty, and tending to her every need.

These two ladies have been tag-teaming Cricket’s care around the clock. The sleepless nights and constant responsibilities are exhausting, but they’re doing an incredible job!

Rescue isn’t always glamorous. Sometimes it’s sacrificing sleep and doing everything possible to give a tiny life a fighting chance.

Short story: Our adopted female golden came to us (at about 5 months) after her owner became ill.

River is a beautiful, full golden retriever who, after getting to know her, truly needs an active family with more dogs and a big yard. She is living a very nice life with us; however, it is not her best life.

For this reason, we would consider adopting her out to the right family. We will be very selective to ensure it is her forever home.

Will be spayed before rehomed.
60 lbs.
Allergic to salmon. Loves rabbit p**p but it doesn’t love her.

Takes one Prilosec in the morning for acid reflux.

River is very strong, amazing nose for smells,
fun, loving, and full of puppy energy. She wants to please. Her ideal day is running with a pack of dogs and being given treats for recall.

House trained.
Good on leash. Goes crazy for other dogs and children, adults and delivery trucks!

🌈 Jack was a legend. ❤️

Jack came to Fetch Cares in 2022 with a severely broken leg that couldn’t be saved. He needed an amputation, but if you knew Jack, you know losing a leg wasn’t going to slow him down—or stop that giant smile of his.

From the very beginning, there was just something special about Jack. He had a way of instantly winning people over, and we absolutely loved seeing that big, goofy smile light up his whole face.

Jack eventually found an incredible family who loved him exactly the way he deserved. He went on to become an ambassador for Hugo Coffee and even a bit of a local celebrity. If you’ve been through the airport over the last couple of years, you may have spotted Jack’s handsome face smiling back at you from Hugo Coffee Roasters. Seeing one of our former Fetch Cares dogs up there always made us incredibly proud.

Sadly, Jack was recently diagnosed with cancer, and things progressed very quickly. His family had to say goodbye to him far sooner than anyone wanted.

We’ll always remember that smile. We’ll always be grateful we got to be part of his story.

Rest easy, Jack. You really were one of a kind. 🌈🐾❤️

Wh**ky is a 3-year-old, 40-lb mixed breed looking for her forever home! This sweet girl is social, energetic, and full of personality. She loves to play, be part of the action, and when the fun is over, she’s more than happy to curl up for some snuggles. ❤️

🐾 MILO UPDATE! 🐾

Remember Milo? He came to Fetch Cares with a badly broken leg after being accidentally struck with a golf club. After surgery, lots of care, and a few complications along the way, we’re happy to report that Milo is doing fantastic! ❤️

His leg is healing well, and it certainly hasn’t slowed him down one bit. Even better, Milo ended up being adopted by Tony & his family—which officially makes him my newest nephew. 🥰

He’s loving life, keeping everyone on their toes, and just completed his very first camping trip! 🏕️🐶

From a broken leg to camping adventures and a forever family… we’d say Milo landed exactly where he belongs. ❤️

I was hesitant to share this at first because this isn’t about getting sympathy. It’s about spreading awareness.

Awareness = Understanding 🧩

I’ve been working in the animal care field for about 22 years now, and I fully understand burnout. I’ve seen it—and experienced it—from multiple angles. From shelter and rescue work, to the veterinary industry, to now having Fetch and Fetch Cares.

Animal care is incredibly rewarding, but it’s also incredibly demanding. It’s long days, late nights, weekends and holidays. It’s cleaning up messes, managing medications, breaking up disputes, hauling food, endless laundry, and being covered in hair, mud, slobber and things we’d rather not identify.

But the physical work is only part of it.

We worry about them. We notice when someone isn’t quite acting like themselves. We learn their personalities, their quirks, their routines and what makes each of them comfortable. We celebrate their victories. We become attached. And eventually, we grieve them.

The dogs don’t know that caring for them is our job. They just know that while they’re with us, we’re their people.

That love is what makes this work so special—but it’s also what can make it so emotionally exhausting.

So this isn’t a “feel sorry for us” post. It’s simply a little glimpse behind the scenes and hopefully a little more understanding for the people working in daycare, boarding, rescue, shelters, veterinary medicine, grooming, training and every other corner of animal care.

We may be tired. We may be covered in dog hair. We may occasionally wonder how there is possibly another load of laundry.

But we keep showing up.

Because they’re worth it. ❤️🐾

Our hearts are a little emptier. 💔

Moses was a Fetch Cares hospice dog, but his story with Fetch began long before that. He had been coming to Fetch for well over 11 years, and if you’ve visited us within the past year, there’s a pretty good chance you met him.

For the last year of his life, Fetch became Moses’ permanent home. Our entire team loved and cared for him, making sure his days were filled with comfort, happiness, good food, lots of love, and everything he needed to live his very best life.

Moses was incredibly special to me (Tori), and while I may miss him the most, I know I’m far from the only one grieving his absence. He was deeply loved by our entire Fetch family. He had a way of quietly becoming part of everyone’s day—and quickly, part of their heart.

After 15 years, Moses’ body finally gave out on him, but his spirit never did. He remained sweet, stubborn, loving, and unmistakably Moses until the very end. Right up to gobbling down a giant cheeseburger on his last day.

Hospice is one of the hardest parts of what we do at Fetch Cares. We know from the beginning that our time together will be short. But Moses reminded us exactly why we do it: because the love, joy, and memories these incredible dogs give us make every difficult goodbye worth it.

Rest easy, Moses. 🤍 You are so, so loved—and you will be missed more than you could ever know. 🌈🐾
