It has been a magical summer of connection for the humans and horses in the ranch wellness program!

Once a week, our wellness participants spend 45 minutes ๐›๐จ๐ง๐๐ข๐ง๐  ๐ฐ๐ข๐ญ๐ก ๐š ๐ก๐จ๐ซ๐ฌ๐ž ๐ฉ๐š๐ซ๐ญ๐ง๐ž๐ซ ๐ญ๐จ ๐ ๐ž๐ญ ๐ ๐ซ๐จ๐ฎ๐ง๐๐ž๐, ๐ž๐ฑ๐ฉ๐ž๐ซ๐ข๐ž๐ง๐œ๐ž ๐œ๐š๐ฅ๐ฆ ๐š๐ง๐ ๐ ๐š๐ข๐ง ๐ฌ๐ญ๐ซ๐ž๐ง๐ ๐ญ๐ก.
All the while, rehabilitating the horses to help them on their journeys to find their forever homes ๐Ÿฅฐ

Training plays a key role in every horseโ€™s recovery. Before a horse is ready for adoption, they go through a process of handling, evaluation, and consistent training to build confidence and trust.

Some ๐ก๐จ๐ซ๐ฌ๐ž๐ฌ ๐ง๐ž๐ž๐ ๐ญ๐ข๐ฆ๐ž ๐ญ๐จ ๐š๐๐ฃ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ญ to people. Others need help learning new routines or rebuilding skills they may have lost.

We rescued both horses from separate cruelty cases around the same time and they both have come so incredibly far after arriving at the ranch in such poor condition.

When people think about animal rescue, they often picture dogs and cats. But horses in North Texas face many of the same challengesโ€”neglect, abandonment, and situations where care is no longer possible.

The Ranch exists to give these horses a safe place to land, recover, and begin again.

Horse neglect and abandonment happen right here in North Texas. Some horses arrive through cruelty investigations alongside law enforcement. Others come from families who can no longer provide the care horses require.

At the Ranch, every horse receives ๐ญ๐ข๐ฆ๐ž, ๐ฉ๐š๐ญ๐ข๐ž๐ง๐œ๐ž, ๐ฉ๐ซ๐จ๐Ÿ๐ž๐ฌ๐ฌ๐ข๐จ๐ง๐š๐ฅ ๐ญ๐ซ๐š๐ข๐ง๐ข๐ง๐ , and ๐ฉ๐ซ๐จ๐ฉ๐ž๐ซ ๐ง๐ฎ๐ญ๐ซ๐ข๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง to recover. We rescued Autumn from a cruelty case.
Upon arrival at the ranch, she was emaciated and her feet were in poor condition. See before photo in the comments below.

After several months of rehabilitation and multiple farrier and vet visits, Autumn started to regain her health and full strength.

During that time, the sweet gelding Prince was one of Autumnโ€™s neighbors in the pasture next to her.
They would spend lots of time standing next to each other for comfort every day๐Ÿ’•

Prince got adopted last month and when his owners reached back out, wanting to adopt another horse, we knew it was meant to be for the two horses to be reunited! ๐Ÿฅน

When we pulled up to Princeโ€™s new home with Autumn in the trailer, Prince was waiting at the gate and he couldnโ€™t believe his eyes! ๐Ÿฅฐ

The two majestic thoroughbreds were reintroduced and happily started grazing together!

We are so excited for Autumn and Prince to have found an amazing new home together and are thrilled for their new family! ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’š

Since we rescued her from a cruelty case to thriving in her new home, beautiful Ahsoka has come so far! ๐Ÿ’–

Ahsoka had never been haltered and had very little human contact before arriving at the ranch. She made great progress in our rehabilitation training program and found a new owner that has the experience and knowledge to help Ahsoka with her training.

Ahsoka has a pasture mate that has become her best friend and has been making great strides over the summer! We are so happy for Ahsoka and her owner as they share their beautiful journey together ๐Ÿฅฐ
