Yo, stop drinking so much. It makes you dumb.

Even a drink or two a day is linked to a chance of developing dementia as you age.

During the first part of the Mil-Tree Residency, we had the pleasure of moving with veterans in a workshop. Mil-Tree is an inclusive veteran-led nonprofit that provides space for community and meaningful connections for veterans as they transition into civilian life. We shared how you stand and move changes how you think and feel. We also shared what it means to be truly supportive and a decisive leader. We finished the workshop by leading the participants through a ritual on the sculpture that gave the veterans the physical experience of vulnerability without fear - fully supported while envisioning their own potential.

The Mil-Tree Residency was made possible by Unlikely Collaborators and NEFA.

If you would like Capacitor to lead a workshop, send us a DM or email [email protected].

Back in April, we had the honor of going to Mil-Tree in Joshua Tree. Not only did we perform Cross-Pollination, but we also led an embodiment workshop for veterans. Through this workshop we shared how we stand and move changes how we think and feel. We also shared what it means to be truly supportive and a decisive leader. The workshop ended with a ritual that gave the veterans the physical experience of vulnerability without fear - fully supported.

Big thanks to Unlikely Collaborators and NEFA for making this happen!

Each performer brings something unique to Cross Pollination—shaped by their background, movement style, and personal interpretation. This week, meet Fabiana, whose journey adds another layer to the rich tapestry of this evolving work.

She began her training at the Judith Svalander School of Ballet and went on to earn her BFA in Dance Performance from Butler University. Fabiana has performed with companies such as Menlowe Ballet, Zikr Dance Ensemble, and Sierra Nevada Ballet, and has freelanced for various companies and choreographers throughout the Bay Area. Alongside performing, she teaches ballet and contemporary, choreographs for competitions, and is dedicated to mentoring young dancers and sharing her passion for the art form.
