Foundation Ensures Excellence in Education for All

Established in 2001, Copper Mountain College Foundation is designated to receive gifts for the college from individuals, corporations and foundations. Just as it is with other educational
institutions, our college needs charitable gifts to endow scholarships and support educational programs and capital improvements that can
mean the difference between ordinary and extraordinary programs and services for student success. The Foundation’s mission, to maximize educational opportunities in the Morongo Basin by supporting the programs, facilities and
activities of the Copper Mountain Community College District includes administering the F. Scholarship and the Alumni
Association as well as fundraising for current students’ programs. The Copper Mountain College Foundation, formerly Friends of
Copper Mountain College, is a 501c3 non-profit auxiliary organization, governed by a volunteer Board of Directors and overseen by the
college’s Board of Trustees. Donations are tax deductible as allowed by law. Annual Foundation events include the Golf Tournament,
Alumni BBQ, Fall Gala and Holiday Wreath Auction. It is vital that we maintain our high standard of excellence in education. California's community colleges educate 73 percent of the state's citizens, yet they receive only 11 percent of the per student state dollars for education. Clearly, your generosity has never been more important. With the help of our contributors and our continued success, Copper Mountain College will remain a pillar in the community, educating everyone interested in learning, and supporting programs that enhance the education process. 🌵💚 The Fighting Cacti brought the SPIRIT to Pioneer Days! 💚🌵

What a fantastic day in 29 Palms! Our Copper Mountain College Fighting Cacti and Spike showed up with Cacti pride, school spirit, and plenty of hometown energy at today’s Pioneer Days Parade!

We loved being part of this amazing community tradition and seeing so many familiar faces along the parade route. Thank you to everyone who cheered us on!

Once a Cactus, always a Cactus! 🌵

ANNOUNCEMENT: Due to a city-wide water service interruption, Copper Mountain Community College will be closed for the remainder of the day. All classes and campus activities are cancelled.

We anticipate resuming normal operations tomorrow and will provide updates if circumstances change.

💚 ONE GIFT. ALL YEAR. SO MANY STUDENT STORIES.

We talk a lot about what donors make possible. But behind every program, every award and every opportunity is something much more important: a student who feels supported.

We are deeply grateful to Banc of California, Yucca Valley, CA for their generous annual support of the Copper Mountain College Foundation. Their giving reaches students in so many ways throughout the year—supporting CMC Athletics, EOP Awards Banquets, the Festival of Wreaths, and basic student needs.

It might mean helping a student-athlete take the court.
It might mean celebrating a student who has overcome obstacles and earned an award.
It might mean providing something as simple—and as important—as help with a basic need so a student can stay focused on college.
Those moments may look different, but they all have one thing in common: someone cared enough to give.

That’s why an annual gift matters. It creates a foundation of support students can count on—not just today, but throughout the year.
Banc of California, thank you for believing that our students are worth investing in. Thank you for showing up. And thank you for reminding us that when we invest in our students, we invest in the future of our entire community.

A big THANK YOU to the Yucca Valley Chamber of Commerce for renewing their support of Copper Mountain College’s Fighting Cacti Athletics! 🏐🏀🌵

When our local organizations invest in our students, they’re investing in the future of the Morongo Basin. Their continued support helps our student-athletes have the opportunity to compete, build confidence, develop leadership skills and represent our community both on and off the court.

We’re grateful for partners who believe in our own community college, Copper Mountain College, and the students who make our community stronger.

🌵 HOW THE CACTI GOT IN THE GAME! 🏀
Ever wonder how athletics got started at Copper Mountain College?

It took a community that was willing to step up and make it happen.

Back in Fall 2016, 100 community members answered the call and became the original CMC Athletic Booster Charter Members — each making a $500 lifetime gift to help get CMC basketball off the ground.

💥 100 Charter Members × $500 = $50,000
That support helped make the dream of CMC Athletics a reality.

With the community behind us, CMC hired its first Athletic Director, and in the 2017–18 academic year, the Fighting Cacti officially took the court for the first time!

🏀 To CMC student-athletes competing as Fighting Cacti!
That’s how you build a program.

And today, our Athletic Boosters continue that same tradition of community support — helping provide resources and opportunities for the student-athletes who proudly wear the Cacti uniform.
