Panakhida served in Jordanville for Metropolitan Vitaly (Ustinov)

On Friday, September 25, 2026, a Panakhida was served at Holy Trinity Monastery marking the 20th anniversary of His Eminence's repose.

Following the repose of Metropolitan Philaret (Voznesensky) on November 8/21, 1985, Metropolitan Vitaly (Ustinov) was elected as his successor, and served as the fourth 1st Hierarch of ROCOR from January 1986 until his retirement in the fall of 2001. He fell asleep in the Lord some 5 years later on September 25, 2006, and is buried at the Skete in Mansonville, Canada.

HTOS Professor Participates in International Congresses in Vienna and Budapest

At the end of August, Protodeacon Andrei Psarev, Ph.D., Professor of Russian Church History and Canon Law at Holy Trinity Orthodox Seminary, participated in two important international scholarly gatherings: the 25th International Congress of Byzantine Studies in Vienna and the 27th Congress of the Society for the Law of the Eastern Churches in Budapest.

This fall, the monastic brotherhood of Holy Trinity Monastery invites you to experience the rhythm, traditions, and daily life of a historic Russian Orthodox Christian monastery at their Fall 2026 Open House.

•Incense Factory
•Russian History Museum

Along the way, discover the awe-inspiring frescoes of world-renowned iconographer Archimandrite Cyprian Pyzhov, learn how Orthodox monks live and eat, see the ancient craft of incense-making, and explore museum collections spanning centuries.

79th Academic Year is launched at Holy Trinity Seminary for 2026-27 with the Convocation Ceremony taking place on Monday, August 31.
For this 2026 – 27 academic year, Holy Trinity Seminary has an on-campus population of thirty-six (36) students, which includes twenty (20) undergraduate students and sixteen (16) graduate students.
For 2026-27, the Seminary has twenty-four returning students and twelve new/incoming students. Of the twelve new/incoming students, we have eight new undergraduate students and four new graduate students. Five of these incoming students are married, and came seminary with their wives and children
First year undergraduate ( B.Th.) students include: Seraphim Bicko, Alexander Drobish, Marian Miller, Juan Rangel, Alexander Romashouk, Marcel Scrivner, and Andrew Seredensky. Justin Metlenko, who is a transfer student from the Moscow Theological Academy and Seminary at Trinity-St. Sergius Lavra, entered the Seminary as a third (3rd) year undergraduate.
First year graduate (M.Div.) students include: Theophan Barthelemy, Ambrose Clark, Maximos Lopez, and Joseph Miller.

Monastery marks +Metropolitan Laurus’ and Archimandrite Flor's Names Day

On August 18/31, the name’s day and the memory of the Ever-Memorable Metropolitan Lavr (Skurla +2008) was remembered, together with his monastic co-struggler, Archimandrite Flor (Vanko +2012).

A Panakhida was served yesterday after the noon meal by His Grace, Bishop LUKE and monastery clergy at Metropolitan Laurus’ crypt behind Holy Trinity Monastery Cathedral.

Vladyka Lavr was the only cleric have been an alumnus of Holy Trinity Orthodox Seminary (class of '58), to serve as monastery abbot and seminary rector (1976-2008), as well as First Hierarch of ROCOR (2001-2008). Fr. Flor was also an alumnus of Holy Trinity Orthodox Seminary (class of '60).

Seminarian receives Tonsure as Rassophore Monk

On Wednesday evening, August 26, following Small Compline, Monastery Abbot, His Grace, Bishop LUKE of Syracuse performed two tonsures to Rassophore Monk, including Novice-Reader Gabriel (Tobal) and Novice Paul (Borisov).

Rassophore Monk-Reader Gabriel (Tobal) is currently a 3rd year M.Div. (graduate) student in the Seminary, and among his monastic obediences, he also serves as the Database Manager for the Seminary’s Development Office.

May God grant Rassophore Monk-Reader Gabriel and Rassophore Monk Paul strength in their monastic life and with their struggles!

It is a beloved tradition to make a pilgrimage to Holy Trinity Monastery over Labor Day weekend. This year, we invite everyone to join us September 5–7 as we prayerfully commemorate the Pochaev Icon of the Mother of God and St. Job of Pochaev.

May this pilgrimage be an opportunity for spiritual renewal, prayer, and rest as we bring the summer season to a close. We warmly welcome all to come and pray with us!

It has been a tradition to make a pilgrimage to Holy Trinity Monastery on Labor Day weekend. On that weekend, we prayerfully commemorate the Pochaev Icon of the Mother of God and Saint Job of Pochaev. This year the commemoration takes place on Labor Day Saturday, Sunday, and Monday (September 5-7). Consider this pilgrimage as an opportunity for spiritual rest at the end of the summer season.
