Our Lady of Mercy Community Outreach

Services are always provided without regard to race, religion, disability or any other extraneous consideration.

The mission of Our Lady of Mercy Community Outreach is to build equitable communities and empower individuals to reach their full potential by providing basic and emergency needs, education, employment and health services. Located at 1684 Brownswood Road on Johns Island, SC, the Outreach currently extends a helping hand to over 11,000 residents yearly through educational programs, health services

and responding to basic human needs. In partnership with over 250 volunteers, the staff effectively delivers a variety of services, including emergency assistance, dental, prenatal and women's healthcare, lifeskills classes, English as a Second Language and GED instruction, after-school tutoring and a summer enrichment camp. Food Pantry and Clothing Closet services: Mon-Thurs 10:00am-1:30pm

CSFP Hours (Senior Food Box-Must Apply Before Picking Up) Second Tuesday of each month from 12:00pm-2:30pm

Today, we honor Juneteenth, a day that commemorates freedom, resilience, and the enduring pursuit of equality.

Juneteenth marks the day when the last enslaved African Americans learned of their freedom, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was issued. It is a time to reflect on our nation’s history, celebrate Black culture and achievements, and recommit ourselves to building stronger, more equitable communities for all.

In observance of Juneteenth, Our Lady of Mercy Community Outreach will be closed today. We will resume normal operations tomorrow.

As we reflect on the meaning of this day, may we continue to learn from one another, uplift our neighbors, and work together toward a future rooted in dignity, opportunity, and hope.

It was a pleasure to welcome Lauren Villavaso from Children’s Cancer Partners of the Carolinas to our leadership meeting last week.

We had a wonderful conversation about the incredible work their organization does to support children and families impacted by cancer and explored opportunities to partner together in service of our community.

At Our Lady of Mercy Community Outreach, we believe that collaboration creates stronger communities, and we are excited about the possibility of working together to provide even greater support for local families in need.
