Youth Talent Showcase Empowerment Expo

I’ve not been on social media in a while, but I would be remiss if I didn’t share with you the love and compassion shown at the last Empowerment Expo, held in Fayetteville, NC. The event literally took place the morning after a hurricane and a few days after my sister, unexpectedly, passed away. I considered canceling it, but I knew that I probably would not soon return to reschedule it and didn’t want to disappoint the Community Volunteers who were due to be honored with Lifetime Achievement Awards and students who would be given school supplies.

Given the situation with the hurricane, I was not expecting many people to attend. These amazing people showed up and I’m grateful. Thank you for your service and support. ~Dr. Shirl & The Shields Of Faith Foundation, Inc.
