At our NATIVE VOICES conference, Sept. 18-19 at First Baptist Church of Gallup, NM, we will be honoring two native missionary "TRAILBLAZERS."
The first recipient we'd like to introduce is Rose Ignacio.
Here is a little testimony of her life and legacy. We invite you to join us Friday, Sept 18th as we honor Rose' lifelong commitment to sharing the gospel with her Navajo people.
Rose Ignacio’s life is a powerful story of tragedy, faith, and purpose.
At just 13 years old, Rose lost her mother and later faced the pain of her father’s alcoholism. While traveling with her younger sister to live with an aunt, the girls were caught in a blizzard. Rose survived, but tragically, her sister did not.
During her recovery, Rose encountered missionaries who shared the Gospel with her. Remembering Acts 16:31, she opened her heart to Christ and committed her life to following Him.
Years later, Rose returned to the Navajo reservation as a missionary, dedicating her life to serving her people. She teaches Navajo language and culture, leads women and youth, helps families in need, and most importantly, shares the hope she found in Jesus.
Rose believes that following Christ did not mean giving up being Navajo. She spent her life showing others that faith and cultural identity could coexist.
Her ministry is built on relationships—serving, helping, listening, and earning the trust of her community. As Rose said, “When I got saved, I wanted to tell anybody about the Lord.” Her life became a beautiful testimony of how God can bring purpose from pain.
