On Sunday evening, 8/23/26, Bret Fischer and Shaun Zimmerman were out at the Jefferson City Radio Control Club Flying Field. Both slightly concerned that the rain might start at any second, but willing to take a chance and it paid off as the rain never showed up at the field despite the weather apps saying otherwise. Bret was flying his F-22 and Ranger. Shaun got in a test flight on a recently obtained Ultra Stick 25e with an E-Flite Power 32 motor running on a 4S battery. The first flights went great, once again proving that the Ultra Stick family of airplanes are a great choice for sport flying fun. This week the temps are supposed to remain at lower levels with some light winds, so there may be guys out flying each night throughout the week. Check the comments section for some video clips of the flights.

Not only is it World Photography Day , but it is also National Aviation Day on 8/19!. What will you be taking pictures of? We already know what Shaun Zimmerman will be taking pictures of...RC airplanes! He, along with visitor / new pilot, Lonnie Monnig, and JCRC Club President, Bret Fischer, and Kevin Cline were at the Jefferson City Radio Control Club flying field on Tuesday evening, 8/18/2026, with a beautiful evening of flying weather once the pop-up storms cleared out of the way and then, even though the field was surrounded by distant rain, it stayed clear and beautiful at the field. One highlight was watching Kevin flying his really nice Beechcraft D-18 in the Navy livery, but while Kevin was flying his F-22 a very short-lived rainbow appeared for us to enjoy. Lonnie got to enjoy a successful maiden flight of his FMS Ranger and Bret was having a great time flying his planes, including an Ultra Slow Stick. Go take some photos!!
