Last night we had an end of season party to celebrate the many musical accomplishments of Ebb and Flow and our Chamber Choir. These groups work so hard during the year with extra rehearsals and performances, it’s time for a well deserved summer break!

Our annual membership dinner and meeting is always a wonderful time of fun, fellowship, reflection and looking ahead. This year’s meeting was extra special as we presented Meredith Leroy with the first Miriam Long Spirt Award which was received with a well deserved standing ovation from her fellow members.

That’s a wrap on Echoes of the Earth! It was an incredible afternoon filled with stunning performances. Special thanks to Missa Pro Terra composer Paul Aitken and his wife MacKenzie for traveling all the way from Nova Scotia to witness the Mid-Atlantic premiere of this transformative piece and guest conductor Paul Rardin for moving us gracefully through it. Thank you also to all of our wonderful supporters who keep coming back year after year. Stay tuned for exciting announcements about our 20th season coming soon!

🎼Echoes of the Earth conductor spotlight - Paul Rardin!🎼

Dr. Paul Rardin served as Elaine Brown Chair of Choral Music and Chair of the Vocal Arts Department at Temple University for fourteen years until his retirement in 2025. He conducted the Concert Choir, taught graduate conducting, and oversaw the seven-choir program at Temple’s Boyer College of Music and Dance. Rardin had previously taught at the University of Michigan and Towson University, and was formerly artistic director of the Mendelssohn Club of Philadelphia. His choirs performed at national conferences of the National Collegiate Choral Organization, and at regional conferences of the American Choral Directors Association and National Association for Music Education. Rardin served as a guest conductor for all-state choirs in eighteen states, for divisional honor choirs for ACDA and Music Educators National Conference, and for Manhattan Concert Productions at Lincoln Center and Carnegie Hall. He presented clinics for state, regional, and national conferences of the American Choral Directors Association. Rardin is a graduate of Williams College and the University of Michigan, where he received the M.M. in composition and the D.M.A. in conducting. His compositions and arrangements are published by Santa Barbara Music Publishing and E.C. Schirmer. Rardin lives in suburban Philadelphia with his wife, Sandy.

Come see this amazing former Towson University professor at the podium for "Echoes of the Earth" on Sunday, May 3rd at 4pm at Kraushaar Auditorium, Goucher College. Tickets available at www.deercreekchorale.org.
