The Partnership congratulates Caltech on the inauguration of its 100th President, Ray Jayawardhana, this past Thursday. Jayawardhana likened the opportunity to "First Light, the poetic term astronomers use for the moment a new telescope first opens its eyes to the cosmos. It marks both the culmination of years of ingenuity and effort, and the anticipation and promise of new discovery."

Last night, the Partnership was out in force to support our friends at the Mt. SAC's first "State of the College" event. We heard from students building paths to green robotics, students training to fight wildfires, state & national champions in sports & academics, students earning their success after years incarcerated or without homes. It was a moving and fun evening, and we congratulate Dr. Martha Garcia and the entire Mt. SAC faculty, staff, and student body on their success.

Congratulations to Union Station Homeless Services for the opening of their new production kitchen!

The commercial kitchen will allow them to prepare all of their food in-house so that they have more control over food costs and supplies, ensuring every dollar goes further!

The kitchen will also act as a classroom for their Culinary Training Program where participants will gain hands-on experience, earn a Food Handler Certification, and get connected directly with employers who are hiring!
