Today, the Mayor’s Uplift Initiative was honored to present Irmo resident Cynthia B. with a $1,500 check. Cynthia has been navigating a tough stretch as she deals with apartment flooding and health challenges, all while helping care for her autistic grandson. We’re so glad we could offer a helping hand when it’s needed most.

We kick off our final Storytime in the Park of the season this morning at 10:30 a.m. at the Prisma Health Amphitheater in Moore Park (7473 Church St.) .

Bill Danielson - Mayor of The Town of Irmo will be joined by Lexington Health Irmo Okra Strut performer, Elizabeth as Taylor (Taylor Swift tribute artist). 💗

Free Kona Ice of Irmo / Chapin for the kids thanks to Palmetto Citizens Federal Credit Union. The Lexington County Library and District 5 of Lexington and Richland Counties will provide resources on their amazing programs!

This morning, Mayor Danielson had the pleasure of meeting Irmo resident Catina W. and presenting her with a $1,500 check from the Mayor’s Uplift Initiative.

Catina, a retiree currently raising her granddaughter, recently faced unexpected financial challenges that led to her falling behind on her mortgage payments. A dedicated community member involved with several local organizations, she shared that she plans to pay this blessing forward.

Let’s Go Irmo! Great job! 👏

We are continuing to celebrate our All Stars from last weekend. After finishing the District 3 Tournament as runner-up a few weeks ago, the 8, 9, 10 Softball Team, Irmo Green, battled it out in the Upstate for the SC State Tournament. Unfortunately, they fell short but we are so proud of the amazing summer they had!

Recently, the Mayor's Uplift Initiative was featured on WIS TV's Soda City Living. Thanks to the generosity of community donors, the initiative has already raised more than $70,000 to support those in need right here in our town!
