Honestly, it started with a need I couldn’t ignore.

For years, BWYN lived in my heart as an idea — Be Who You Need. But for almost four years, I carried it without really having the opportunity to physically teach it.

Then came the Invisible Backpack lesson.

On paper, it was just a lesson plan. But when I actually got to teach it, something clicked. I realized BWYN was never meant to just be an idea, an event, or a program.

It was about helping people understand what they carry, what others may be carrying, and why community matters.

That lesson was small, but it reminded me of the bigger reason It Happens Here exists: to turn the idea of community into something people can actually feel, experience, and be part of.

That’s the heart of IHH.
