We would like to say thank you to Kristin A H Russelburg. Something that we have wanted to do for a while was restaurant fundraisers, where the restaurant donates a percentage of sales back to a nonprofit that brings customers during lunch/dinner for the fundraiser. However, it is something that has just kept falling off of our plate, and the very first one we did some time ago gave us a payout of $0 when we didn't hit a minimum sales amount -- which discouraged us and made it difficult to start another one up. Recently, Kristin volunteered to take the lead on setting one up and did research to find which restaurants had better policies for minimum sales/customers, which ones paid the best percentages, and which restaurants close to both Inspire Inkster and Scout Troop 1241 Garden City, MI were feasible for our groups.
Then, Kristin did all of the behind-the-scenes paperwork for this, helped advertise it, and made it possible for our groups to raise $123.81 together. With this as our starting point, we could make about $740 yearly if we do a fundraiser every other month -- and possibly more if our restaurant fundraiser group grows from here!!! For us, this would be an income stream towards sponsoring another youth or two in our programming, which we believe can help bring them hope and keep them on the right path in life as they grow older.
Thank you again, Kristin A H Russelburg, for stepping up and helping our organizations and our youth in this way! And thank you to Matt Russelburg who approached us with the idea of having our organizations collaborate on restaurant fundraisers and who also provided the below pictures of Kristin. 😁
