Pack 2024 had a great time today with Den Leader Jazzmin McGuff and her activity on tree identification! We went outside, collected leaves as a group while talking through other observations of the trees, and then matched the type of leaves we found to the type of tree they belong to. 🌳🍁 The kids loved this! Along with a craft and our usual scout opening/close, the Cub Scouts also counted the number of rocks/points they had earned in their jar for positive behavior, and they earned enough to get their pizza party reward! What a great day!

We had KITTENS during our Pack 2025 meeting at Scout Troop 1241 Garden City, MI today! 🐈‍⬛️ Thank you so much Cubmaster Bre Ruiz and For The Love of Cats Rescue and Adoption for bringing them in to help the kids explore the Critter Care adventure. This was a fantastic meeting that led to a lot of smiles and youth saying they had a great time. We also appreciate Troop 1241's Assistant Scoutmaster Bill Ellwood for running games and activities in the background that the Cub Scouts also enjoyed.

In November, you may see scouts walking door-to-door and dropping off plastic bags labeled with advertisements for a food drive. This is our major annual community service event for all of our scouts aged 5-20! On November 7th, they will drop off bags for those able and willing to put donations of nonperishable goods in them, and on November 14th, we will come back to porch pickup any donations. We wanted to get the notice out early so that anyone who sees them knows what's going on. Please help cheer on our scouts who are trying to help others and make the world a better place if you happen to witness Scouting for Food going on in your neighborhood! 🥫

Major shout-out to Alphonso D Fulghum for being a great parent and role model for our youth! All of our usual carpools were out of commission tonight, and he stepped up in a big way to make sure that everyone could get to a scout meeting tonight. On top of supporting others in this manner, he has been a long-term parent leader/volunteer in both the elementary and secondary scouting programs and keeps an eye out for all youth. He also makes many campouts possible by volunteering to step up and go on all events, along with keeping up with the paperwork and registration requirements from the scouts. Thank you for all that you do, Alphonso D Fulghum!

For Sunday evening, we wanted to give a few quick shout-outs to volunteers who are doing a great job! First, thank you Assistant Scoutmaster Bill Ellwood and Committee Member Jennifer Boehm from Troop 1241 for preparing for an awesome campout with our scouts! I failed to get any pictures tonight, but it was great to see the boys excited for their next adventure to the D-Bar-A Ranch/scout camp. Next, thank you to Pack 2025 Cubmaster Bre Ruiz for organizing a Critter Care adventure with KITTENS for an upcoming elementary meeting -- this is going to be amazing!!! Third, thank you so much to parent Lakita Watson for offering to organize a Halloween party for our scouts. They are going to have so much fun!!!
